Post by: gigamike on August 22, 2014, 02:44:40 am
Guys,

Newbie...Is the ags donation related to bitsharesx? i mean let say i donated on ags (BTS and PTS) can i integrate it or add on bitsharesx.

Also, as far as i know, for those who register Keyhotee ID has also some shares, im not sure.

Thanks,

Mike

If you donated to AGS then import the wallet/s that you donated from (PTS and/or BTC) and your share of btsx will be there!

If you were a Keyhotee Founder (not just had a Keeyhotee id), then you contact Stan at info@bitshares.org to get your btsx

I donated PTS to get AGS and have installed several versions of BitSharesX now and imported the protoshares wallet.dat file several times successfully, but to this day I do not see any of the AGS, only the BitShares..

Any help would be appreciated...

I'm not sure if I understand you - but what you would see if you imported the wallets from which you donated to AGS what you would see is the number of btsx that you were awarded for that donation (if you donated before Feb.  28th). You still have the AGS in trust with 3I and these will give you shares in upcoming DACS.

You would not expect so see anything called AGS in your BusSharesX wallet.

Did I understand your question?

Yes - you understood the question, and I did not understand the platform.  Thank you for more clarity.  I did not know of PTS back in February, but I did know of it in April and contributed PTS for AGS.  So, effectively, I have BitSharesX purchased a month or so ago and i have AGS, exchanged for PTS in April, but will not see anything regarding the AGS for sometime.  So, if I understand correctly, I just need to be patient and all will be revealed in due time?

Thanks again

Yes, you AGS which you get on April will give you the shares in all coming DAC's including coming BitShares DNS and BitShares Vote.

What we can see here http://www1.agsexplorer.com/ (http://www1.agsexplorer.com/) / Balances is that, what we can import to the Btsx-Wallet?
Is this correct?

Hi,

yes i guess, on http://www1.agsexplorer.com/ (http://www1.agsexplorer.com/) you can check your donation balance (PTS or BTC), while on your BTSX-wallet you import your private key that you used for donating on ags.

Apologies, as I'm still new to both Bitcoin and BitsharesX. What is the purpose of substituting an address from Coinbase to another?

Not sure about coinbase as I am not a costumer there .. but
either:
 - you don't habe access to the private key at all
 - a third second party (coinbase) also has access to your private key

Xeroc, will the fact that I donated from Coinbase in July affect my AGS  involvement in future snapshots?

Do you own the private key of the address you spent from? (I don't know as I am not using coinbase)

No, coinbase does not provide the private key.

You can only access your genesis stake of each DAC for your donations to the AGS address if yo hold the private key of the address you sent the btc from ...
Unless you do not care about your initial stake you should go through that thread:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=4748.0;topicseen
and hope for future developers to act accordingly .. as changing your coinbase address to something different is extra effort for the developers ..

It was made clear from the beginning that donations to AGS only make sense from a wallet where you CONTROLL the private key!
