While watching this I thought of the great blockchain. Maybe one way to get college students excited about Bitshares was if
they could fund their education with Bitshares instead of loans. You would effectively sell shares of your future income to fund your college education. Investors could then invest in student backed securities and derivatives. What are your thoughts? Would you do this?

As an investor, I wouldn't touch this with a 10-ft pole because I wouldn't trust some random snot-nosed student to be able to pay the loan back.
Maybe I'd think about it if we had a robust identity system on a blockchain (keyhotee?) and a way of bundling loans to spread out the default risk.

Well you would invest based on what you're expecting their income to be after they graduate and it wouldn't be a loan but rather shares in their future income potential. They would or could issue shares through something like BitsharesME. Therefore, you always have the option of selling your shares if you want.
Now, the students seeking to fund their education this way would have to be open and transparent in order for their shares to be worth anything.

A better idea is to give college students loans with a discount for BTSX in the form of vouchers. They get cheap BTSX for being in college and if they invest wisely their investments pay their loans which fund their college education.
