does anybody know of a good trial vps, or if not does anybody have one of those 10$ off at digitalocean vouchers?
I wanna start a delegate for shits and giggles, but I'm scared to fork over cash and then run into some unforeseen problem. Id rather get it working first, then pay.
i'm googling around but not finding much. anybody have any suggestions?

As far as I know amazon offers one free instance of their lowest tier vps. It is not enough to compile on but you can compile at home(using similar os) and scp it to your vps. You have to send one or two extra files but you will get an error basically pointing to where it is. I'm not sure how it will hold up once the delegate is producing blocks.

I think you only have to scp the client.

I know it works if you scp the whole directory, but mira is probably right. I just never tried it.

sweet. didn't get the extra ten from promo code but did get the 10 dollar referral bonus so I'm taking a crack at this as we speak.

I recently started with Digital Ocean and was disappointed with their bullshit.
1. They don't accept any crypto currencies
2. They require a deposit before you can use the 'free' credit
3. After you make a deposit, they still won't let you get started, but then inform you they need a boatload of id.
They get recommended a lot because they have a generous referral scheme, but we could do with identifying more honest and better fit participants in this market.

im logged into the vps playing with my free ten dollar credit right now. if they try to charge my credit card they're going to be unpleasantly surprised.
edit: although now you've got me worried, i hope they dont wait until i get paid then charge me.
