It requires that you download the mumble program.  It is not a web/html service.

If this doesn't help, you need to tell us what address isn't working.

I haven't used mumble.  I am having a problem figuring out how to broadcast ?

It is hierarchical, with "BeyondBitcoin" at the top.  I do not know if I send messages to BeyondBitcoin if they are broadcast to everyone etc ?

All those rooms add to the confusion of it a bit.

I can hear bytemaster, but I do not know what room to type in for the meeting aspect ?  I can send him messages directly, but that defeats the purpose.

Sorry I missed it...

You speak to only whoever is in your exact room "node". We need to just have like, 2 rooms, not a huge tree

What about making one of the Bytemaster/Toast/Stan/other iii staff Q&A / hangout sessions on a day on the weekend around noon or a bit later so that people from Europe and Asia (for Asia in the morning and for Europe in the evening) also have a chance to join in?

Might be good to change the Subject line to reflect this change ;)

Also, please notify me of any changes so I can alter the Server Message to reflect them.

You can simply right click on the Channel to which you would like to send a broadcast message and left click "send message".  This will allow you to send a message to everyone in the channel.  This works for individual users as well.

It might sound a bit odd, but let's be sure to record these hangouts and post the files somewhere for easy reference. Also, a usb headset will drastically improve your sound quality. ;)

That would be great! Because I can not attend the Tuesday sessions regularly. Way out of my day hours..

Seems I'm also not to good with time-zone conversions and just discovered that the tuesday-session starts well after midnight in my neck of the woods. While I might be awake around that time, I won't be able to speak because I'm not the sole resident and waking them at those hours tends to make them rather grumpy afterwards.

I won't be there but I'm hoping to listen later.

I'd really like to hear reputation management. This has always fascinated me and seems central to many potential DACs.

Can we reduce these calls to just once per week until we get a bit more structured?

Tonight I have an opportunity to work with Nikita on the BTS wallet so perhaps we should reschedule tonights questions until Saturday?

I'd be fine with that.

Better one packed with questions on the weekend where members from Asia and Europe can attend more easily.

Either alternate from weekends to weekdays or pick the one that has the most user participation.  Not that I have anything to contribute, but I doubt I'd ever listen to one on Saturday morning.

For me recordings would be fine too.

No worries BM.  Tonight was going to be a little more structured, but we can save this for Saturday.  Also, feel free to PM me to keep me updated.  Get your work done!

I'm being "denied enter privileges" to conference hall.
I set Mumble up in a hurry just now, so not too sure about it all.

Thanks. It looks like I've set it up OK - I can see everyone in the 'conference hall' section, but I'm stuck in the general Beyond Bitcoin area. I try to join the conference hall and it says, 'You were denied Enter privileges in Conference Hall.'

Edit: I'm in now. I sent a message to the conference hall - not sure if that's what got me in!

Anyone who is registered can register you.  But you have to ask using chat.

The ACLs are set up so people have to be registered before they can move or even talk.  This is to keep people or bots from coming on and causing interruption during sessions.

Once registered you can create your own temporary rooms, move/talk openly and record.

I think I miscalculated my conversion from my time to EST and came in after most of the session. I also had to come in with no microphone because I'd done it all so last minute.

I'd like to try again next time!

So the last show was great.  Thank you to everyone who showed up.  All the questions typed or asked directly contributed to a show that was probably the best one so far.  The concept of having 6-7 people just asking questions directly with follow-ups is great.  The multiple sources of questions served as a great filter for any significant misconceptions or lack of knowledge by participants.  The end result was just a much better, at least as far as clearing up questions on DPOS/TITAN/BTSX.

It seemed like everyone involved came away with a lot better understanding.  I know I learned a lot, which I will be able to translate into better documentation.  I'm going to start a thread in marketing I think, asking if anyone has any ideas on how to harness this content.  Here's the link https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6795 (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=6795)

btw Hadrian...no worries man!

I tend to monitor the situation when running this so if I see someone new in there I will usually drag them down.
I like to keep registrations to occur based on the people who are already in, however. That is why the ACL is set up to allow people to PM others in the server, but unable to move, make your own room, record...etc without the trust of at least one person who can be trusted within the server.

Really it is just there to make sure people don't come in and zerg our conferences with craziness of all manners...  ???

The beyondbitcoinshow.com domain is now in flux.  We need to just change it.

beyondbitcoinx.net is where you should go eventually, but it can be a few days behind.

You can go to the soundcloud site at https://soundcloud.com/beyond-bitcoin-hangouts and that will have anything I've published audio-wise.

The beyondbitcoinshow has that menu at the top that shows when and how to connect to the mumble.  It would be nice if that URL is preserved, but if not the URL then the content.  If I post the shows, it is nice to be able to tell people "how to become involved".

Thanks for the notification.

I would like to propose for the agenda a discussion on the various efforts to build consensus around the current proposal to dilute shares and merge various related assets.

Please can we make the mumble sessions on sound cloud downloadable.
I dont always have access to wifi making it difficult to find time to listen to these.

Alternatively, where can I download the recordings from. They are great to listen to.

Thanks,

Are the files for this posted somewhere in an RSS feed or as files that someone could make into an RSS feed? Or has someone already done this?

the files are accessible through the bitshares' Beyond Bitcoin SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/beyond-bitcoin-hangouts

To my knowledge noone has created an RSS feed.  I think that is a great idea though.

I found that if I am signed out of sound cloud, then I can get an individual page with the talk on it and use clipcoverter.cc to download the file

I am pretty sure it allows anyone to download them.  I have never had an issue anyway...

I know that you guys most probably you don't want to change the time of the hangouts since it is more convenient for the majority but if it was possible to move the time 3 hours later it would be great  :). I am not at home at 10 AM EST and I lose all these live hangouts..

In any case I can always listen later on so it doesn't really matter..

I wish I could find a way to make all parties happy on this.  We have changed the Hangout time literally a dozen or more times.  Sorry for this.

With that said, the PLAY hangout is likely going to be changing times since they now have their own forums up and running and are going to serve as their own complimentary DAC in the BitShares Ecosystem.  Most of their most interested parties seem to be in the Eastern Block so it is not altogether outside the realm of possibility that you will be able to attend those.  Why don't you check out the Playtalk.org forums and ask your questions there?

Fuzzy,

In order to make a RSS feed from this soundcloud account it looks like you'd need to apply for the Soundcloud Podcast Beta (http://help.soundcloud.com/customer/portal/articles/1209292-can-i-podcast-with-soundcloud-).

It seems like it makes more sense to do that than to download the files and create a new feed. That way soundcloud pays for the bandwidth (or maybe they don't, I am not sure). Let me know if there is any way I can help with this.

Totally appreciate all fuzzy's hard work so far and will be voting for him once I finally get round to setting up my new machine with the 0.5 client. That said the most recent mumble session appears to have been edited in what appeared to be a rather odd and jarring way. I could be wrong but it felt like there were bit's that someone had decided to cut out because they didn't like what was being said:

Example from edited mumble session 21/01/2015. At 23.35 we hear faddat get cut off and then fade in to him saying out of context:

faddat: be forked
fuzzy: what do you mean by that
faddat: okay, because there's very little contact....
[.....]
faddat: erm, no they don't do that Riverhead, although you could almost call it that the censorship is so pervasive now.

I thought the above example was slightly ironic given that faddat was talking about censorship.

I know often there's a link posted early to the full unedited version of the Mumble sessions, but it's a bit of a pain to track it down each week. Please can fuzzy post the unedited version of the Mumble session to SoundCloud every week alongside the edited version? Would be most appreciated if this could be added as part of delegate duties. I for one would rather trawl through all the pauses, clicks and pops and still get to hear what everyone actually says. Really felt like I was missing important points the way the last session was edited.

Thanks in advance and keep up the stellar work.

If I'm not mistaken it's simply because some people type in their questions, or thoughts... as Riverhead most likely did here.
I can't recall exactly.  But the remedy for this is perhaps to encourage all participants to read aloud anything non-verbal they might be responding to.

I let people know I will gladly read their questions and our guests are made aware that if they want to answer a question before I get the chance to read it that they are expected to read the question aloud before answering it.  With that said, I also post the unedited versions of the hangouts to these forums, but we are actually in the process of getting things ready so we can start posting them to our website (so we can have a central location to go for all our content).

On that site, I intend on getting it set up so we can have a user issued asset that is given to people who simply tweeted/shared our content on social media.  That will most likely give them access to a section where they can find our unedited hangouts.  Unfortunately, I think this is going to have to be the way moving forward as we need to ensure people actually start sharing our content.
We rely on investors to help us because we are running on a shoe-string budget...so the barrier to entry for accessing the unedited content should be very low (requiring no more than 1-2 minutes of someone's time once/twice a week.

Hope that helps.

Is there a way to stream this to youtube if it is not being streamed already for community building?
