Title: Bitshares 8.0 wallet windows
Post by: shaggyone on April 24, 2015, 01:04:01 am
Hello I am new to bitshares and I downloaded the wallet 8.0 from bitshares.org Upon opening the client, it asks me for a password though I have never set one up before. I can't seem to do anything without a password. I am using windows 7. Please inform :)
Thanks!

Welcome!

9.0 was just released earlier tonight :).

https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/releases

When the client first loads it creates a new wallet if one doesn't exist. The first thing you need to do is choose a password for that wallet. The wallets are encrypted from the get go.

hey thanks for the reply however i am saying i can't create a wallet without a password already on it. i downloaded 9.0 and i still have the same problem. it asks me for a password after i open it and it won't let me create a "new" wallet with my password. sorry if i sound naive but every other wallet seems different. how do i download an unlocked wallet so i can move my bitshares off the exchange?
cheers
