Title: Sent bitshares from my 1.0 web wallet to a 2.0 wallet, funds were lost.

I sent funds from my bitshares 1.0 wallet to poloniex's 2.0 wallet, by mistake of course. They said I may be able to recover those coins.

Also, why is there no warning for this in the web wallet?

You actually didn't send anything at all. Your funds are unspent on the 2.0 chain. You just need to claim them with your private keys.

wallet.bitshares.org is running on the OLD chain .. it is there for people like you to export their keys properly:
