When will the affiliate program be activated? I'm using the light wallet not sure if I can participate with that wallet

Its independent of your wallet app..
I hope it can start next week .. its the dev's second highest priority .. behind improving migration process

you can upgrade your account to life time from any wallet.

DACPlay started with the affiliate program yesterday, I use them in my tutorial http://blog.smartcoin.pw/p/get-started.html

So I'm assuming once the affiliate program is live people will be promoting Bitshares and the price should rebound?
