Title: Blockchain wont sync in 0.9.3c

I set up an account in 0.8.0 last spring
I am trying to set up 0.9.3c to move my BTS into so that I can
then move on to 2.0.
I cannot get the blockchain to sync, it actually is going in reverse, syncing
successively earlier dates.
How can this be.

Once the blockchain is downloaded from the website tuck provided, type in the console.
