To become a Meetup Organizer, all you have to do is signup on meetup.com and then schedule the meetup at a coffee shop, bar, restaurant or even at your own home. Show them how to use the web wallet, register an account, create a uia (and the reasons why), buy some bitEUR in the dex, flirt a little, or just talk about cryptocurrencies in general.
You don't have to be a coder, a trader, or a marketing guru to get the word out there. If nothing else, setup your local BitShares Meetup group just for something social to do. You know you need to get out of the house once in a while :)

ethereum got the marketing hype
bitcoin and litecoin are ancient coins
dogecoin is known for their community
ripple doesn't even need meet ups, they're already well connected
maidsafe is at the same level with us
Of course we could be doing better, but I think this is normal, you're comparing us with bigger and older communities and more mainstream projects.

Meetups are a great way to get the conversations and friendships going, no time like the present.
We have over 10,000 people who have signed up to use this forum (people who want to know more about Bitshares):
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?action=stats
..and only 6 Bitshares Meetup groups have come out of it?

Meetups will be useful when the product is more stable... Bts changes every week. Bts is now totally different than the first time I explained to my friends. It's impossible to promote something that is in a constant state of flux.

Don't give up. It takes time to build these meetup groups guys and in that time, Bitshares is growing and changing, it's still something worthy meeting and talking about. I've only had 6 meetups so far but have met at least 20 people in that time who now use the web wallet and talk about Bitshares to their friends and colleagues.
There's got to be more than 6 organizers in the bitshares ecosystem.
Out of 10,000+ Bitshares forum users, there has to be a few more of us who are willing to get out there and at least talk about Bitshares and the projects we're working on. Be social! :)
