Title: I tried to buy BTS (Bitshares) Platform says I own open.ETH. How do I convert?

I tried to buy BTS (Bitshares) Platform says I own
open.ETH. If BTS goes up in value do I own BTS?
 or do I need to buy on another exchange. New to this. Can you help?


I sent ETH via myetherwallet, and thought I would end up with BTS not open.HTS

Should I just use shapeshift in the future?
Would that be easier.
I am not trying to trade on the exchange.
Just want to buy and hold BTS
