After long waiting we can officially announce that the
very first trading platform for Bitshares and Protoshares is ready to take Beta Testers!The spots are limited and we do only allow
30 Bitsharestalk.org members on the platform! For the beta you will not require anything and don't need to move over any of your assets - you can freely and securely play around! For the Bitshares trading we are using "BellaCoin" as a substitute to imitate the trading for our Bitshares and Protoshares. Each beta tester will be granted
500 Bitshares (Bellacoins) and
$2000 for the trading. Real trading for BTC/PTS will start next week after Invictus has checked our cold storage method and can confirm that everything is done correctly! Additionally, we have approached several security auditors and will report back once we know more.

We will keep close contact with all 30 beta testers and create a Skype group where we thoroughly discuss bugs/fixes and where users can suggest improvements. The purpose of this beta is it to prepare the platform for the official launch in a few weeks.

30 is enough to get a clear overview on what needs to be changed/fixed. In a week or two, after fixing all the major bugs, we will gradually let more people on the platform. But for now, spots are limited.

Just a thought on that graphic above..
Perhaps worth avoiding use of only BTS and BTC. Obviously, we're familiar with those but perhaps better for noobs to state "BitShares (BTS) and BitCoin (BTC)" explicitly wherever there is room for that.

Because there were so many applications for beta we have decided to increase the amount of beta testers to 60 people! We will send out the invited to the chosen people tomorrow.

After the beta users across the globe will be able to deposit their Fiat currency and convert it into Bitshares. We have been working on the legality now for the past 2 months and we are about to get an amazing banking partner on board :)
Our goal is it to assist people with the transition from centralized systems to the decentralized world. This Fiat exchange for Bitshares, Protoshares is just the beginning and will add a tremendous amount of liquidity to the markets. We have a lot more projects planned so there is a lot to come that will benefit everyone involved - especially future, upcoming DAC's.
Still taking applications? Just submitted and would really like to take a look at the exchange and help out however I can.

Yes we are definitely open for new applicants. Right now we are doing all the invites in batches in order to keep the size of all the invite/skype groups down to a minimum and make it easier for us to manage the opinions, ideas and suggestions from these people. You should expect to receive an invite within the next 2 - 4 days though :)
