Title: Help spread the word: List of external threads needing up-votes/comments

If you have a thread or topic which should be voted up (reddit) or commented on (bitcointalk, youtube, reddit) or shared / reposted (facebook, twitter) then please post it here.

PLEASE POST NOTHING HERE EXCEPT to be commented/bumped links, no discussion, no "+5%" etc.

I didn't make this videos but it helped explain how to get started with btsx to me. So just comment or like the video to help people who are noobs to bitshare see it.

This taskforce is for anyone who uses Reddit and wishes to help.  I personally am a reddit fan but never used it for bitcoin discussions and am not currently active reading there.

I would ask that you not post unless you have an active thread to upvote.  I want this thread to be the place that people post their calls to action for Reddit.  No discussions here.  I want people to be able click notify and get an email any time someone posts a Reddit link here.  People will not do that when there is chatter.

Reddit has a special nature because they apparently weigh the submissions by how active the upvotes are early on.  So the more people willing to quickly click on notify and give an upvote the better we are.

If you would like to discuss particular Reddit threads or give a shout-out, find or create a thread in https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?board=71.0

Woooo. Hopefully I wasn't too harsh in there. I look at this project as my baby and the Bitshares community members as my family, as this is only 1 out of 2 alt coins I have publicly supported since joining the Bitcoin community two years ago. I hated to see this thread getting personal, as it really should be about the merits of both projects and not the people involved. I hope I didn't make things worse, but all of that needed to be said for the better or the worse.

I'm more of the opinion that when something only gets a few hundred views, there really isn't much to spoil.  It is about just finding eyeballs.  I locked it though so it will scroll off top.

How long do you figure this little post will last there?

Now imagine if instead of spending those million bitcoins per year on electricity, they were spent on hiring developers, and marketing, and infrastructure, even Super Bowl ads! Suppose there was technology just sitting there off the shelf that replaced mining with useful work. There are developers right now getting paid this way to work on next generation technology for blockchains with transaction times of 10 seconds not 10 minutes. Technology is marching on (like it does everywhere else).

You point out that as long as Bitcoin grows at 10% a year it can break even. But wouldn't it get accepted even faster if those resources paid for growth? And with that growth, the buying power of those new coins would grow even faster.

Bitcoin could become a rocket ship if it generated thrust instead of heat with its increasing coin supply. It could pay 100 small businesses a revenue stream of several million dollars a year each to grow the ecosystem. All those employees might still sell their new coins for food creating the same down pressure we are seeing today, but at least they would be doing something useful as a by-product.

Do we really think that 10 years from now Bitcoin will be using the same technology it does today? Does anything else stand still like that? If it must surely upgrade sometime before then, why not now?
Will Bitcoin wait till other competitors, who use their supply generating fuel for thrust instead of heat, go zipping past it?

Bitcoin is a philosophy. It is a set of ideals. It is a vision. That's what's important. It is not a fixed technology.

Everything that was done was publicly disclosed and auditable.  Once employees are paid with donated funds (as intended by the donors) then the funds are theirs to buy lattes or donate to BitShares as they see fit.  Not a double dip at all - and all traceable on the blockchains and explained on public ledgers.  100% of all donations (and their resulting sharedrop dividends) are dedicated to developing the industry.  Zero profits were retained by Invictus and developers were paid merely average salaries.  Their year end bonuses bring them up to full pay for people of their caliber but they will have to live off those earnings for a while, because now they are all in elected positions that pay 1/4 of what they had been making.

There was no premine.  The very first ProtoShares (PTS) block was actually mined by Super3 of StorJ fame.  Our developers had to buy and rent their own mining equipment just like everyone else.  Most of our mining equipment, in fact, never got turned on because because it arrived three weeks late, after an overwhelming number of miners jumped into the action in those early weeks.  So, it was a classic mining gold-rush distribution where everybody got the same shot.  And that well accepted fair distribution was used by our innovative "share drop" approach to distribute shares fairly in future DACs.  Another innovation was our version of simulated mining (AGS) where an alternative fair distribution profile was generated via in a 200 day donation contest.  Now we had two very fair distribution profiles (one for miners and one for donors) which were used to sharedrop tokens in BTSX (now BTS) instead of using wasteful mining over and over again.

I could go on, but suffice it to say that every move has been debated and vetted transparently on bitsharestalk.org. 

NewMine is an outstanding propagandist.  He has an amazing ability to take everything that happened in broad daylight and turn it into a dark conspiracy theory.  You can believe his vandalistic tales if you want.

They will only cost you a big opportunity. 
That doesn't really hurt anybody, does it?   
He's just having a little harmless fun.

There is a bts thread on Hashtalk that is gaining followers, I have posts on there but do not have the expertise concerning bts that many of you do. If someone would signup on Hashtalk that can help generate
interest and give them good solid information as some are looking into the various bitshares like options out there like nxt etc. It could bring many people into the bts arena. Someone that can handle this professionaly without gettting into the anti-paycoin mode would be appreciated and these are people that are looking for a shelter from the btc price declines and some new opportunities.

I know it, we must seem like the enemy to the hardcore bitcoiners. Thing is, his most successful investments (purse.io, Bitpay) have come under some major fire in the last couple months. Hacking, theft of BTC, cashflow problems, you name it. I think Kraken has been good to go so far, but I have been dropping seeds with him for about 3 months now.
The contact I mentioned has been helping me too, he's a prominent guy himself, so I think it's just a matter of time, where Roger will finally either tell me to f*ck off, or he'll be curious enough to respond to my seeds requesting a bit more info on us.
I think once he sees OpenLedger, that will be the ticket that finally gets him to reply to me directly.
OpenLedger is gonna ultimately smoke Kraken unless Kraken does what Ronny recognized early on. It's gettin interesting that's for sure :)

Murderistic said Kraken won't support BitShares, ever. I know "ever/never" is a strong word to use, we don't know what the future holds for us, but if we get some smaller exchanges and get bigger and bigger volume we will be able to compete

I think we are overthink solutions when we already have those like torrent, in china people use vpn....they want to use google.....they want solutions for.their problems n need....the question is what is the need we are going to.fullfill thousand of people that dont want to.see.their money dissapear on bitcoin next pump?  Build a smar blockchain for enterprises? Create a store of value for.long erm?
Which is blank space that we wN to.fill? Will.it bring profit to.shareholders?

ZeroHedge is a great place where many of the articles point directly to a crypto solution.  The people posting comments however do not grasp blockchain technology and constantly bash it as a ponzi.  Here are two articles that could use some comments:

More bank accounts being seized.  Further proving you don't own your money, only allowed to use it under certain terms.  When will the precious metal people finally get it that a blockchain can provide many benefits?!  When will home "owners" wake up and realize if they don't pay their yearly lease aka property tax the local jurisdiction will come and take it?

At last a positive and easy to understand presentation about Bitshares and CCEDK. It's human readable and people might actually want to learn more about what magic Bitshares could do but without wanting to no anything about what goes on under the hood.

A quick afterthought is that the CoinCard is very expensive so it kills the idea of good value for the unbanked. For the kind of charges that should apply have a look at REVOLUT. Yes, it's a bank etc etc but look at the fees...0% 0% and interbank rates.  :o
