Title: Is it the forum or me?
Post by: zerosum on November 12, 2014, 02:28:19 am
The forum lost 2 of my huge post tonight.... And I am not big fan of typing...

Is it me/my system or the forum software?

Should I start typing them in someplace else before posting?

I haven't had any issues.  From my phone or my pc.

no issues here either, but I haven't posted much of length lately. Longest thing is a quote of you and one other person just now.

Why are you asking us? No one has the answers to your first questions who doesn't also have admin privileges. And the answer to the bolded question is for you to determine by how much you value your time.

As far as I am concerned (and because I value your posts), you should type somewhere else and then copy and paste here until you figure out what is going on. But then that doesn't cost me any time, only you.

Forums is acting messed up. Deleting and editing random posts in strange ways.

For long posts I absolutely recommend writing them elsewhere and then copy/paste/augment into the post box. Especially if you can use an editor that has a spelling/grammar checker more robust than a browser's.

I'd like to be able to use the forum's editor as it provides some additional buttons and formatting unavailable elsewhere.
Forum reliability is a very good thing. Is there a budget for the support ?
