Hey there, welcome to the bts community

in BitShares we have the bitUSD ... would it be possible to have a gateway into ripple for the USD IOU token too?
Who do we need to contact to get that done ASAP?
Who is a contact for bitEUR and bitCNY?

This guy seems to be here just to make fun of BTS with XRP  ( seeing what he posted on the Chinese sub-board . saying everybody should quit the "dark" BTS and joint the "bright" XRP  ....  )

I'll forward your questions to some serious Ripple guy later .

Why the name Ripple?

I can't help thinking 'potato chips' right after I read it.

Was this done by way of being backed by the potato cartels? :)

Welcome to our illustrious community! :)

Ripple gateway is open to all user, if you have a good reputation, then you can build gateway by yourself.
For those influential gateway, ripple labs will provider XRP to do promotion.
XRP can exchange more than 5 fiats. for example. USD, CNY, JPY,KRW,EUR and etc.

Welcome to our community.

1) What is your selling point to the world?

2) How do you compare Ripple to BitShares?

3) Do you see any opportunity for co-operation between Ripple and BitShares?

If we could work together and create a USD->bitUSD gateway from fiat into Bitshares, it could be good for both coins.

Much better than fighting each other. ;)

I'm planing on working with several US guys to test the viability already  .
Nothing too difficult is expected .
But the down side(is it downside ? ) would be the customer in this model will need to learn about Ripple first .
Does anybody think this is a bad idea ?

Customer shouldnt need to learn about ripple, they just need to be able to send fiat to a ripple gateway

Ripple gateway eventually are gonna ask you for a ripple account .
If you can send fiat directly to a ripple gateway and get BitUSD back without even needing an ripple account , then this is not a ripple gateway but a BitUSD gateway .

Got it.

So we would need a tutorial that has them register a BTS account, and make a Ripple account, and then transfer.  (Sounds like a good partnership that both BTS and Ripple would want).

That would be great. Ripple is design based on trust relationship, while BTS is design based on non-trust relationship.
Both of them is try to provide better fiat exchange with lower fee.
