After failed to create a brand new Poof system, the Crypti (XCR) dev team decided to adopt DPoS as their consensus mechanism and it is about ready to launch - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654463.9720
Crypti will not be a competitor of Bitshares. Instead, Crypti will focus on some specific commercial applications of crypto technology with adding side chains and the virtual machine.

I'm aware of this and communicated with them while they were considering this decision. I'm glad they went to DPOS.
I hoped they would honor the social consensus but even if not it still legitimises DPOS as an algorithm. DPOS is the best algorithm right now spec for spec.
-
And what does Crypti besides implementing dpos?
Is it just a coin or does it have special features?

We post our roandmap here

Our main idea to implement as we call it, custom blockchains functional, to allow developers launch new applications on custom blockchains.
We working on it to implement it in new release.
Looks like Todo started thread not in time, because after dpos release we will still be in alpha production, need to check how it will work on mainnet.

you should honor the social consensus and sharedrop on this community .

Maybe i'm wrong and not so familiar with social consensus, but we don't use BitShares toolkit, we use only algo.
And our first distribution was on our consensus algo, that was failed, bc it's problem to get 10% to bts community.

XCR is only using the DPOS algorithm. XCR devs rewrote it in Node.js. The coins have been distributed long a ago when XCR still tried to work on their own Poof algorithm. However, the price of XCR is very very cheap now at both Bter and Polo (with 0.5 btc you can buy about 0.1% of total XCR coins).
-
At least they have a roadmap :)
+5% ... looking into it

good to know , at least it's a research on DPOS .

New Crypti whitepaper, https://crypti.me/crypti.pdf
I wonder if they will want to upgrade with Graphene..

They could just migrate to BitShares and issue an asset. I just don't see what Crypti offers that BitShares doesn't.

they have to buy the licence then. doubt it.
and I agree with @Akado they could just issue an UIA
-
Their primary "advantage" is being all in JavaScript.
-
I think it's a pretty cool project. Writing BitShares DPOS in NODE.js from scratch is ambitious but they did it. The community is still fairly small but it would be nice to see another DPOS project gain some traction.
-
I agree it is a fairly cool project, it would be nice to have a complete javascript implementation of graphene's protocol.
Fortunately we already have everything for producing and signing transactions in javascript, all that is required now is to implement the evaluators that track chain state.
-
Thanks for the info.

complete javascript implementation of graphene's protoco
would this require a licence ?

Welcome on DPOS :)
Why not dicuss how we can profit from each other and grow together if there is a opportunity?

No. Only their code is copyrighted. Anyone may implement the protocol.

intend to agree here! If they are using our protocol but develop from scratch complete in node.js and javascript ..guess a license won't needed.
@bytemaster pls correct me if i'm wrong here

Some very innovative features may be patented ... you know .. like progress bar or a double click .. :P

"Meet the Next Generation Cryptocurrency ‘Crypti’, Blockchain 2.0 Tech"
Crypti’s decentralized applications are backed by the existing Crypti network which operates using a variant of the BitShares Delegate-Proof-of-Stake (DPOS) consensus model and is formed of 101 active delegates who are democratically elected by the users of the network.

Glad to see Crypti get some press. The article does give a tip of the hat to Bitshares.

This^^
Let's not have one chain to rule them all. Let's have many that take up different needed areas of the ecosystem. :)
As for a UIA. Why don't we just make sure to create bitXCR and let IT trade?
