They are good people.  I have respect after meeting them not only because they figured out DPoS was a great solution, but also because of who they are.

Yep, the downloadable clients take like 5 hours to synce right now, but from what I have heard on the mumbles, the Core Devs are upgrading to a whole new database on the backend this year. That upgrade alone is speed everything up and increase our transactions per second as well.

I sync in less than an hour with my 16GB machine.

My 4GB machine takes a lot longer.

It is.
There is plenty of ways how to address this problem and this is one of them for sure.
