Title: Nicehash mining issue
Post by: Pheonike on April 01, 2015, 12:32:56 am
Getting the below error when trying to connecting to Nicehash. Using the same u/p that I have always been using.

Establishing connection with pool usd.minebitshares.com:5557... OK
Sending mining.subscribe... OK
Sending mining.authorize... OK
Received mining.notify subscription... OK
Received mining.set_difficulty... OK
Received mining.notify work... OK
Received authorization result... Error: Failed to authorize. Wrong username or password.
Your pool is shown as incompatible therefore we encourage you to contact pool operator to make sure that the pool is using minimal/starting pool share difficulty which is compatible with our service (and thus compatible with today's miners), please send them link to our FAQ on this topic: https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=faq#faqb3. Thank you!

Hi, Pheonike,
I think I remember seeing something where nicehash had upped the minimum pool difficulty...

Port 5557 is a fixed diff, your better of using port 5556 if your using nicehash - that's the port I use if I need to do any load testing on the pool with nicehash...

Note: Caution - I would't pay for nicehash with the pool unless you can buy your hash lower than our average BTC/MH/Day, otherwise it may not be profitable.

Also please post these types of questions in the MineBitShares sub-forum please. thx.

Actually - try now - as you did before, all should be OK...

I found the issue, The pool bitshares_ client was offline, meaning new users could't be authenticated by checking if they provided a valid BTS key.

Thanks for raising the issue,

cheers,

nethyb.
