Title: USD inverse market pegged asset
Post by: monsterer on April 17, 2015, 09:00:27 am
Are there any legitimate uses for an inverse USD pegged asset? Buying bitUSDINV would be like shorting bitUSD.

.. to be long on a short position? To be able to sell your short position to someone else? I am not into financial alot .. but just don't get the reasoning behind construct like those .. could you elaborate a little?

My mind exploded when I tried to imagine the price of one bitUSDINV in relation to BTS.  :P

Wouldnt an inverse bitUSD just be a BTS?
Can we not achieve this exact functionality right now by buying BTS?

Oh wait, no one must buy a BTS under any circumstances, it must be avoided at all costs! :P

the value of 1 inverse-bitUSD should just be the value of 1 USD short (2x increase in USD value decreases short value in half, and visa-versa), so buying BTS now should give you this functionality.

It will be worth 1 BTS but it will be backed by 300% ^ 2 BTS. or about 9 BTS  :)

So, 1 bitUSDINVINV would be worth the same as 1 bitUSD, but would be backed by the BTS equivalent of about 27 bitUSD?
In that case perhaps there would be a slight premium on it, making it worth a bit more than 1 bit USD (because it is backed more strongly)?
