Title: How to claim PLS from crowdfunding
Post by: EstefanTT on May 08, 2015, 05:44:40 pm
Hey guys,

I've invested a couple of BTC in the crowdfunding of BitShares Play and I was looking in this section of the forum how to claim them.

I couldn't find anything to help me. I sent them via the Mycellium wallet on my smartphone.

I've installed the desktop client and created an account.  I'm wondering now what are the next steps ...

Thanks ;p

you create an account (no need to register it) .. go into the "key" tab of that account and import the PRIVATE KEY of the bitcoinaddress that you used to donate to the crowdfunding ..
that's it ..

I still have a tiny problem.

I used the Mycelium wallet. It use some kind of seed to produce a different private key for each transaction you do.  Apparently, there no way to access the private key you use cor a particular transaction. The only thing I have when I export the wallet is a very long weird key as that one :

xprv9yeLA9Z8kueAeFhWu4rK6uJjkSEUT3oXZarqQvVHZxcqSdjbuAA42ftgetYLHeXDtLgDjXGoSb2 Qr82Ga3nAJGUCZfy7RoqwkoR22hsmRL10

(Don't worry, it's not the one they gave me ;) )

It's more a problem with Mycelium than it is with Bts Play. I post this just in case you have heard someone having this issue or if you have some ideas of what I can do.

Cheers ;p

...

You can export a private key in plaintext in the Keys tab.

I don't know exactly how mycelium is deriving sub keys .. but this tool may be of help for you:
http://bip32.org/

it takes the 'xprv' seed key as input and can derive the sub keys .. maybe someone else knows the correct derivation path for mycelium
