Title: Sending PTS From Cryptsy to PTS Wallet on Laptop
Post by: bitbro on December 26, 2013, 03:15:44 am
Today, for the first time, I tried to send a PTS to my local wallet.  It has not come through after many hours. I think I may be doing something wrong. Is there already a thread to walk people through this?  What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks you,

bb

Also, my wallet is apparently "out of sync" -- not sure if that refers to mining or how much i have banked...

That's your problem. Your wallet can only see transactions that it's loaded in the blockchain. Out of sync just means that your wallet is behind the rest of the chain. If you leave it running for a while it'll sync up to the network and you'll be able to see your transactions

Okay, it's "seven weeks behind."  Please tell me I won't be waiting that long

No, that's just the number of weeks since PTS was launched. I recently tried to re-sync completely, and got all 7 weeks in less than 10 minutes, plus a little extra time to connect to the network

Also, "no block source is available" ... Is this an additional problem?

Also, I've read suggestions of adding nodes to the console, but where can I find a node and would this help?

Any chance bytemaster will produce a wallet for the masses soon?  The current wallet demands too much technical knowledge for a layman like myself.

I thought it was too technical at first when I started but persistence is key. Keep asking for help no matter how annoying you may seem and read the message boards it'll all come to you eventually good luck!

Going to options>>network unclick the "connect through SOCKS proxy", press Apply then OK. Restart the client and double check that the "connect through SOCKS proxy" box is really unchecked, if not repeat the process.
If the box is unchecked you should start syncing within minutes.

Here is my protoshares.conf
