There is no mining pool currently. Solo mining only.

Hi, I'm not running PTSPool. I just helped distributing the source code for ptsminer.

I don't even know who is running the pool.

Any mining tools out there for mac?  https://github.com/donSchoe/ptsminer did not help...I made the makefile.osx not crash instantly and tracked down all the right libraries to link against (and in some cases had to link by hand...darn you berkeley-db 4.8!) but the binary for pts miner never came through...all it did was compile bitcoind.

Maybe I'm stupid (I'm sure as heck not much of a programmer), but, is there anything out there for pool mining on a mac?

nothing in the readme except stating to copy ./opt to /

I can run it with no real flags, but, I doubt that's optimal....

Run it with..

./miner the-iland.net PTSADDR

./miner the-iland.net PTSADDR
I've got it running...it must auto configure the # of processes to run

Server Features
Getwork Mining Protocol -   use CPUminer   and PTSMiner

Payment Methods
PPLNS - Unhoppable payment method with rewards split similar to proportional.

Private Servers
provides high end members with details for private servers which are designed to keep those users online even when the pool is under attack.  If you have a large mining farm and would like to mine with a great interface and low variance, but don't want to be troubled with DDoS related downtime, you can access to the private servers.

Is there something wrong with the PTSPool ?? http://54.238.185.113/

Pay-outs seem to be very low for this pool...

For example, 1 machine, x64 with 4 threads, 16 Hash/minute.... and still constantly getting the lowest pay-out, it only gives around 0.00084497, 0.00108305, etc... per block.

Does this seem reasonable to you ? It certainly seems very low... At this rate I'll have to mine days to get just 1 PTS share!

Ypool has been making it hard for people to confirm transactions by only including one transaction per block.

Noob questions.  I know the Protoshare wallet can do mining, do you think is better with the wallet or the jhprotominer from ypool.  I'm also not sure if I mine with the wallet it will not receive the protoshares, Does the wallet automatically takes the wallet address?

Better to mine with external miner and pool, because external miners x500 times faster.

For slow 32-bit machines under linux, Pts Pool Miner v0.7 RC2 seems to be the fastest.

Not to sound noobish but every post about solo mining on bitshares is strongly recommended against, yet there's new PTS blocks found every 5-10 min. or so according to coinplorer... Yet 1GH and Beeeeer both haven't found blocks in ages. hours at a time it seems. are people solo mining the hell outta this and not letting on?? or is Ypool just having the craziest luck streak ever?  or is there a pool I need to know about.?? ;)

Yes! I've mined in februari and now since a few days again.

I have pointed 3300 cpm at 1ghz and 3700 at PTS.UPCPU.COM

PTS.UPCPU.COM puts out a lot of small payments in order of 0.02, but very fast since the difficulty drops

I have pointed both mining machines to PTS.UPCPU.COM.

1gh pool does not find a lot of blocks, I get like 1/3 payments compared with PTS.UPCPU.COM

What pools and fast miners are we left with now?

YPool which uses YAM CPU miner
1GH which can use YAM CPU and their own GPU miner
UPCPU Mining Pool looks to use their own miners

Anyone have experience with these?  Beeeeer.org is going offline today :( which you could use YAM for cpu and clpts for gpu.

I just revised PTS pool support for yam, and yes, we have only 4 pools left - ypool. 1gh, ptspool and upcpu (yam supports all).
