Title: Chains/Communities/Devs BitShares should be Allies with?
Post by: fuzzy on July 22, 2015, 01:07:14 pm
Are there any blockchains out there you know of that we should start approaching for beyond bitcoin hangouts and community integration?

We have to recognize that by gaining allies in this space, we are setting ourselves and BitShares to become a juggernaut.  The best way to do this is to earn the trust of those devs and communities whose tech we feel will be important moving forward.

Please list the blockchain tech currently available that you would like to see us approach in hopes of bringing them on board someday to fulfill worker proposals in their own respective areas of specialty.

how about the SuperNET crew:

i'd also be interested in integrating with privacy oriented groups, like Dash or Monero ...would be great to layer in those features with BTS or SmartCoins at some level.

the more allies we have the better...

The ones who would complement BitShares like communities who are developing voting, anonymity and pegging features

Yup and I've been working on tech integration between syscoin and bts. It will provide bts with decentralized marketplace and much more once turing complete.

Here are a few that seem to be doing some interesting things (in no particular order):

Crypti, Qora, IOCoin, SuperNET, NEM, Horizon, NXT, Burst

Can anyone speak about how other platforms like these can actually be integrated with Bitshares?  I understand they can utilize the Bitshares blockchain instead of their own by issuing a UIA for their own currency.  But most (if not all) of those listed above are more than just a coin.  So what about the functionalities they are building?  Would their devs need to become Bitshares devs and port their functionality over?

systems with their own blockchains most likely aren't going to do much UIA issuance with us, but dev teams like SuperNET that are looking to build applications on top of promising blockchains would be ideal.

cool, well i think we'd be looking for a post-2.0 integration/collaboration anyway...

I would love to see SYS jump on board w/ BTS and collaborate on the Decentralized Market place. Not only that, but obviously DPOS will help them to scale much easier.
That community has gone through hell since IPO and quite a few have stayed strong while sticking in there!
ps- I'm a small SYS holder  :)

I'd love to see a cross community collaboraiton on a decentralized marketplace.

Imagine a 1 click installation of a front-end like prestashop by using your public key and setting up a marketplace of offers you own on the syscoin blockchain. Now imagine installing the Bitshares ecommerce plugins which I have already done and now you have the ability for vendors to accept USD on chain while using a marketplace decentralized stored on their private key, backed up by the network. If you wish to move your store to say OpenCart you can do the same thing, infact both stores will stay up to date by monitoring the blockchain and adding items to the sql databases through the syscoin blockchain ecommerce plugins.

To take it a step further you can link your marketplace to someone else's by using linked offers. You will simply be able to say I want to clone someones marketplace offers and offer things on there for a small commission and dropship orders... thus if you are a better salesman you will get a cut out of things you do not even own, but just a reseller. You should be able to even browse offers and resell from different vendors, becoming a reseller from a variety of different sources. With offer whitelisting you can achieve volume based discounts or a vendor controlled reselling platform for each offer you own if you wish only select individuals to resell your offer, and at what prenegotiated discount level.

Now imagine if both blockchains supported AT (with built-in escrow, buyer/seller protection) and ACCT and you can now transfer coins in/out of either chains, thus you can pay your marketplace fees in Sys by using bitshares. Now you got total integration of communities.

Because Sys is on supernet, you should have ability to hide your coins using either bitshares or supernet if you wish anonymity when using the marketplace.

That's the vision I am working towards right now.

John Barrett of Bitcoins & Gravy did a show with them a while back.

We were into Solarcoin early on, but haven't followed the project since then.

It's a great idea and they particularly would be a coin that I think would consider moving to the BTS2.O blockchain.
