best of luck to them! they definitely have the whole marketing thing down; now we'll get to see if they have the s/w dev and econ value proposition thing along with it.

With under $7k daily volume (CMC) you dont even need a whale to skyrocket some coin's price.

Those are only 1M shares of the supply .. and they are IOUs for real ETH .. not the real thing

seems to be the typical formula for a crypto pump n dump on the Frontier launch.

I remember when they were released. It's by someone not associated in any way with the Etherium project. They are a promise to 1-1 exchange them for real Ether. If you look at the distribution graph he hasn't had a lot of luck selling them.

yeah kind of nuts...playing off the Ethereum hype and potentially swindling everyone in the end. it's at least a real risk.

Is Ethereum currently being valued at $180 million?  :o

Ethercoin is an iou for 1 million Ether currently valued at $3 million & I believe there were circa 60 million Ether given out at the pre-sale.
Is that correct?

The people buying ethercoins at $3 or going to get destroyed.
And thats if they even get their ether, which depends on trusting the ethercoin creators.

Presumably though they are pricing in some risk that they won't get the coins, which means they probably value Ether even higher.

But I agree once more supply comes on the market, it will be valued a lot less. Still looks like could easily be $50 million + though,

Yeah, if they get the coins, these ethercoin buyers are going to be starting out down 80% or so.

Not as much as BS 2.0 :)

But seriously - someone needs to make ETH <-> BitUSD and ETH <-> BTS conversions tool asap (Perhaps ShapeShift). Once ETH launches there will be plenty of speculators looking for a new home. But someone needs to also advertise as a place to park profits (BitUSD).

great idea...BTS would be a great spot to park those pump n dump profits
