Title: Test GUI for Normal Users!
Post by: bytemaster on August 20, 2015, 10:46:25 pm
https://graphene.bitshares.org  is now up to date with the latest test network.

We are working on a bug with voting by proxy... don't enter text into that field at this time it will lockup your browser window.

I have been able to import everything from my BTS wallet successfully.    Still a lot of work to do on the GUI, but it is coming together at a consistent rate.

Looks good!

So is this web-wallet going to be used by banx, ccedk (and blocktrades?) in a few months?

Interface looks very slick and fast!

Is Dynamic Permission functional in this test?
I can see the interface and add threshold and accounts; although it looks like i cannot publish the changes to the block chain.

IMO this is a killer feature and cant wait to test it out!

Hi guys- I can't get past "Please create an account".  When I enter account name/password, I get a pop-up: "Failed to create wallet: TypeError: Invalid value undefined supplied to WalletTcomb/chain_id: String"

I have tried every combo of lower case, #'s, etc., in both my name and password, and get the same message every time.  I also get a pop-up after clicking "create account" that says "Unlock Wallet" "Password".

I was trying to create a dummy account just to play with the wallet.  Do I need to log in with my real account?

I was able to open an account when the thread was started. It's very impressive.

My only criticisms are that it's too fast and too user friendly  :P

Yes I was on Chrome and iPhone.  I'll try Explorer also in the future as a third try.

The login page isn't displaying anything in Firefox for me.
In chrome for some reason  it's not keeping the same proportions/resolution as it does in safari (which it looks the best in).
Can't create new wallet - same error as others
Can't import balance to login

Depends on OS/browser.  On Linux/Firefox you can delete the files in:

Code: [Select]
/home/[yourusernamehere]/.mozilla/firefox/[randomlygeneratedprofilenamehere].default/storage/default/https+++graphene.bitshares.org/
Obviously be careful doing things like this if you actually use a web wallet to store anything of real value.  Don't lose your private keys.

For those experiencing account creation issues, please try to nuke your old wallet (note: you will lose your funds) and start over:
Got to dev console (right click somewhere in the page and select Inspect element) and enter these two commands:
Code: [Select]
shimIndexedDB.deleteDatabase("graphene_db")
indexedDB.deleteDatabase("graphene_db")

If the problem doesn't go away, please post your browser and os version here.

It wasn't syncing for some time because the seed node was down, should be back to normal again if you refresh the page.

A lot of fixes has been posted. Voting is working now (except a small glitch when you may need to type account name twice before it's recognized)

I'm curious, is it safe to import our personal balances/accounts into the test network yet? Is there risk of loss?
Title: Re: Test GUI for Normal Users!
Post by: valzav on August 21, 2015, 06:29:59 pm
Your private keys won't leave your browser and also they will stay encoded with your password when your wallet is locked (when you see Unlock link in the top right corner).
Also please note that your imported balances will become visible on the testnet - just don't import big amounts until you don't want everybody else to see them.

I created a test account, it worked, I could see my 1000 CORE and the account on the dashboard.

I came back to my account a few hours after. I have my account name on the right corner, when I click on it I have this message : "The account estefantt123 does not exist, are you sure you spelled it correctly?"

Is weird because  it worked and I didn't lock the wallet.

On my dashboard, now, where I had my name account, I have a grey rectangle with an question mark inside.

The witness node is crashing due to networking issue BM mentioned here (can be fixed if rebuilt in Release not Debug), also there is another networking issue with block propagation time, so I decided to shut the GUI down until those issues are resolved.
Looking forward to relaunch it next week - we are going to have some new GUI features/updates like memos shown in the transactions list, open margin positions shown in the account overview, working account permissions management, import keys/balances performance improvement.

*bump*

I was going to direct this guy here and then noticed it's down...

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,18435.0.html

It would be nice for people to be able to confirm their devices/browsers will run it ok to give them some peace of mind before launch.

Would getting this up again require significant effort?
