I just thought to start this thread for fun...
What do you think will be the highest market cap of BTS starting now until the snapshot is done as shown in coinmarketcap?
Place your bets. The winner will receive 2,000 BTS from me (others are invited to add some funds to that pot for the winner)
Last Bet will be accepted until 30 minutes after this week's Friday's Hangout!

No official announcement has been made yet. An official snapshot announcement is scheduled within this week I think and once this is done the 30 days start counting.
The bet is starting from today until the snapshot is actually done. If for any reason the devs decide to delay the snapshot more than 30 days or whatever the bet is until the snapshot is actually done..

Not a single person so far has guess that the price will be at or below the current price. Only a couple people have even been close to the current price level.

Bitshares 2.0 will be the same as launching a new coin, so I guess we will see the usual patterns. BUT the important thing, is that during this period it will be used and the usability proven. But yes I don't think that anything will happen til launch (or a bit later).

I honestly just have no idea. Aside from where the chart looks like its going in the short term, I give up on predicting things like this. :P

Maybe we can start a futures market on the hottest trending user assets for 2.0 also. The futures market is heating up over rumors that a bitPencil may soon be introduced. If the $99 market peg holds, this one could be something special.

I'm seeing a lot of predictions in the 15 - 20 million range...that isn't a whole lot for something as pump-worthy as BTS 2.0 finally releasing. So basically you guys are thinking the best we can do is a 100% gain tops? I'd be surprised if that's all we get...but then again most of my BTS purchases were done in like the $40 million range and back when BTC was like $500, so maybe my views are skewed/outdated. :P

I absolutely don't think that's the best we can do.
I guessed 15 million because I think it's going to take a few months for it to set in what's just been released.

We're not making a final high-water-mark prediction, just a prediction for this snapshot period. My guess was $15 million as well, but I said that I believe it is worth at least ten times that much.

Predicting a rise of "only" 50-100% is a lot more reasonable than extreme moonshots. Even though we all think BTS should be worth way more.

As a strategy for trying to win the game, his guess is sound, he basically takes the under, and wins if the price is anything below 10M. Its like being the last person in Price is Right and betting $1.
I'm not saying BTS will be that low, I'm saying its a good game strategy because he gets credit for a wide range of values.

Given the rules and the fact that it already hit 11.3M after the post, xiahui and newmine cannot possibly win.
My thoughts on who will win:
Chronos and Donkeypong have a good chance to win, with Chronos winning if the final amount is below 12.5M, and donkeypong winning if the amount is between 12.5M and 15.5M. (merockstar, if you had simply moved $1 to either side instead of duplicate guessing 15M, you wouldve had a good chance).
I think one of those two will win. If I had purely wanted to win instead of making a fun guess at the end, I wouldve guessed 14.999999M. ;)
From 15M to 25M there are tons of guesses, no one in there has a big range.
From 25M to 40M mf-tzo and I split a pretty good range. If it rallies a lot and breaks 3600 sats (or gets near that with BTS rising), then one of the two of us will win.
If it gets really crazy someone with very crazy fantasy guess will win. :)

@puppies I have been thinking about this and I don't think it is fair not to reward the winner even if he is not active. In the end of the day he may come back after a couple of years when bts will be $1 and he will be very happy to find out that he won $1,000-$2,000..
On the other side it is a shame to just throw bts to someone who never claims them...
All in all I think I will reward the winner and maybe you can reward the next upwards..This way both will be happy...It would be interesting though to see what others think as more fair.
