The article has a misleading title.
Essentially, it seems the CEO of BitPay manually transferred the bitcoins. Someone had hacked the CFO's email account and used that to request the CEO to carry out the transfers.

Those coins being dumped probably contributed to the early January crash.

would never trust them after this incident.

Ridiculous.  Transferring that kind of money with only email confirmation is almost asking to get ripped off.

I think dynamic account permissions (https://bitshares.org/technology/dynamic-account-permissions/) are Graphenes greatest feature. Even beyond price stable cryptocurrencies.
