Given the

Import your BTS 2.0+ BACKUP first
(if you have one)

I assume we kind of have a wallet hosted on different places? For example, one for the windows client (when it's released) and another on OpenLedger?

How did you get it to export a .txt? I only see wallet_export_keys and wallet_export_to_json which exports a .json file. I tried renaming the .json to .wif but no luck...

Invalid format for me as well. I tried two different wallets, one exported from wallet.bitshares.org and one exported from the PC console 0.9.3c client.

Edit: changing extension to .wif did not solve the issue.

Edit 2:

OK, as it turns out, I had to first create an account on the OSX wallet. This was not explicitly stated on the conversion guide, but the pictures made it obvious. The only other scary thing about that was the fact that when I created the account, it said it failed but it did let me import all my keys after that. This was on the OS X wallet for anyone else who cares.

This guide was spot on except for creating your baseline 2.0 account.

There is no need to rename to wif.   Exported keys in a json file can be imported.  You will need to export your keys via 'advance->console' (not via menu).

You shouldn't need to rename any files or change their extensions (i.e. endings).
Just follow the instructions listed here:
http://docs.bitshares.eu/migration/index.html
or  here:

Please refer to http://docs.bitshares.eu/migration/ how to migrate properly.

If you used the old webwallet, you need to import the recovery key, not the backup file!
Title: Re: Open Ledger is Now Operational
Post by: bytemaster on October 13, 2015, 07:48:09 pm
The claiming of imports is DIFFERENT than importing a BACKUP.

First create a new wallet, then import keys.

I don't think so. It's just another service running the graphene ui. That'd be my guess.

Is there a difference between keys.json and WIF?

I am confused about WIF.

Maybe there should be the word OR between Import and WIF

Excuse my ignorance.

To be honest, I liked the color settings of https://graphene.bitshares.org better than the ones applied on https://bitshares.openledger.info

@cass, what is the reason the css settings have been changed?

The ones we had for the testnet were pretty good, the current ones seem to be work-in-progress, especially the markets page.

As a temporary solution, you can always reduce the font size for this URL (ctrl-  in Chrome).
But you're right - everything is way too big, it needs to be scaled down by 20%.
I suggested this to @cass a couple of days ago and he seemed to agree.

So I registered with open ledger and I am considering buying a lifetime membership... problem is I'm kind of confused with the fee division.

What does...

Lifetime Referrer (committee-account) - 30%
Registrar (temp-account) - 50%
Affiliate Referrer (committee-account) - 0%

mean?

who are these accounts, and what will be my percentage of the transactions fees be when I start referring people?

the committee account is managed by the committee .. it's like the board of directory voted in by shareholders pretty much the same way as the witnesses ..

So if I register a lifetime membership through open ledger, I would receive 50% of the fees of anyone I referred? The committee would get 30% and the network would get 20%?

When I try to import my keys, I get the following error:

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Script: https://bitshares.openledger.info/graphene_ui/app.js:21

Any solution?

Sounds like you are experiencing what I did.. your export probably has tens of thousands of keys from market activity like mine.. luckily recently bytemaster made a tutorial to help.. but it requires your own node:

https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-2/wiki/Import%20BitShares-0.9.3c%20wallets%20into%20BitShares%202.0%20CLI%20wallet

I attempted openledger (and I think I broke it), and light wallet.. both died on me.. particularly at the Wallet Management Consol page.

I haven't been able to do anything all day due to this situation and its set back the work I expected to to put into bunkermining :( .. anyways.. we will get through it. :)

Yes, you can download and run your full node to process the import.  Download https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-2/releases/download/v2.15.286/BitShares-2.15.286-win64-cli-tools.exe.  The cli tools will help you to run a full node locally in your PC.  Then download the light wallet and point the websocket address to your local node.  If you need further help, you can come to the bitshares telegram group.  There are active members there to provide help.

Do you not need to upload a file when using 'IMPORT FROM 0.9.3C'?

It only asks for a file for 'IMPORT BACKUP'.

Am asking because I think puppies exported from 0.9.3C and I have a json file.

..will just try it out now.. playtime :-P

If you're on Windows you need to use the console accessible in the GUI, as described here:
http://docs.bitshares.eu/migration/howto-exporting-wallet.html
Alternatively I guess you could use the 0.9.3c CLI (= Command Line Interface) but I haven't tried this.

I was able to load the web wallet and import my keys (https://bitshares.openledger.info), and suddenly I wasn't able to load the page anymore (grey page, nothing else). Are there others having the same issue?

let the script continue and click the check-box so it appears not again... then you probably see everything is freezed and you can not use your explorer anymore.... in reality it is hardworking on the background...  check on linux on a cli  terminal with the "top" command or on windows with the task manager.... be patience for at least half an hour and the next magical screen will appear !!!!

I've been having the "blank page syndrome" in my Firefox for a couple of days now.
But the issue has been largely ignored by the devs - maybe rightly so as I seemed to be the only one having this problem.

if you have a wallet backup clear your cache memory from settings on your browser and try again...
try from a clean computer or another browser?

PS leave it on the grey page more than 20 minutes.... maybe it is "loading" (working on background)

you would need to register other users and do all the technical work .. you can't just openledger for that just yet.. afaik BM mentioned it would come this week (the affiliation program)
