Title: how can i be a witness and delegate to get earnings

how can i be a witness and delegate to get earnings for my deposit?

i have stored 168k but get nothing what must i do?

All three kinds of delegates (i.e. witnesses, committee members and workers) have their distinct roles as described here:

So the primary purpose of delegates is to perform their specific roles and be compensated for it, and not to "get earnings for deposits".
It means you can try to be elected as a delegate but first you have to be ready to take on one of these roles and then convince other BitShares holders that you are worth having this position.
In this sense it's a reputation-based system.

In BTS 2.0 there is no option to earn interest on your funds,  at least not until the bond market (https://bitshares.org/technology/collateralized-bond-market/) is implemented.
