Title: LTC Dumped on OKCoin -
Post by: phillyguy on November 10, 2015, 02:27:35 pm
Someone dumped a TON of LTC, bought BTC and withdrew from OKCoin. They disabled withdrawals and appears to be rolling back some trades.

I'm glad I don't have any LTC...

Something bad happened. Confirmed reports someone bought at 1.5CNY, sold at 19CNY, bought BTC and withdrew then had their account locked.
OkCoin lost the entire orderbook for LTC, some 200Mil of LTC traded in <30minute bar. Liquidation occurred to 0.01CNY and now OkCoin is trying to reverse trades. They are in the process of altering their history right now with the charts miraculously reversed to 19CNY.
Something bad happen, that's for sure, I wonder if BTC is next.

Oh wow, wow wow - I wondered what caused that 100k BTC buy!

Almost certainly a hacker if they're rewinding the trades. Too bad the guy already withdrew the BTC - looks like they're going under unless they can reclaim it.

And it's another argument for decentralized exchanges and low reliance on each gateway.

Akado, do we know any journalists who could use your excellent record of issues to write an article?

I have only one event recorded after 2.0 launched. Also missing links on Kraken's latest DDOS attacks. I would like to know more cases so we could safely say "bitshares could have prevented all of this". And also once we're a bit more stable? Would be the ideal, otherwise people will just shoot we can't handle volume.

Ken has some connections with cryptocoinews or cointelegraph. I dont know which one. Also one of those were into some shady stuff so we want to get the other one. Other than that, maybe Bitcoinist could use it. I dont know any guys there. Murderistic knows people in the crypto magazine bizz. Or maybe even a forbes article as ronny has a guy there too? But I would prefer to have a more solid case first, which means, more attacks on exchanges and possibly a better UI and volume on 2.0

If you know of any events post 2.0 release pls share them  :)
