Some things to note about these systems.

1) No benchmarks have been performed using our mining algorithm
2) The initial ProtoShares-Qt client requires about 1 GB per core, in theory enhancements to the algorithm should allow 1.5 GB to be used with any number of threads.  Until someone contributes an enhanced mining algorithm to the ProtoShares client you will require about 12 GB of RAM
3) The Momentum Proof of Work is memory bus limited, having 2x1GB DIMMS may be better than 1x2GB DIMM.
4) These systems assume boot from USB stick running Linux.  You will have to build ProtoShares from source to mine on these systems until someone releases a downloadable USB drive image.

Right now you can compile the latest ProtoShares from source from here: https://github.com/InvictusInnovations/ProtoShares

The Genesis block and other settings are not final yet, but we should have binaries posted on invictus-innovations.com tomorrow for Windows.   There are bounties for OS X binaries.

So, if I order a portatech tech system it comes with everything I need including the Linux binaries for protoshares?  I just plug it in and boot?  Do I have to contact someone from portatech to make this custom order?

Also, are these systems upgradable to 16 GB?

No, the portatech has no relationship with ProtoShares. If you purchase from them, you still need to install Linux and Protoshares yourself.

Wow thats cheap! I was looking at newer gear, 4770K, liquid cooling, o/c the bitch to 4.6ghz, 16gb of fast 2400Mhz ram, a mobo that has dual channel ram and 8 phase cpu power(Asus Z87), small SSD, plus a decent power supply .. $1100.00 ++

Now, I don't know how much performance gain I would achieve over the $414.00 core i7 4770. Probably not enough to warrant all the extra cash. I can probably get 3 for the price of this one. So where do these guys get their parts!? off the back of a truck or something? lol..
