Title: 100 PTS - Create 'Intro to Keyhotee' Infographic [CLOSED]
Post by: MktDirector on January 06, 2014, 03:20:35 am
This bounty is for turning the content in Dan's youtube video "Introduction to Keyhotee" into an infographic that explains 'What is Keyhotee?'.   We will then distribute it as a handout at the next event. Because the event is the end of this month, this bounty will have a deadline of Jan 17 at which time the winner will be chosen.

What we're looking for is an infographic with a simple and elegant design, one page only, that can be printed on standard 8.5X11 paper, and tailored for the non-technical person.  It will explain visually how keyhotee works in its various functions.

This will be open to suggestions and comments until Jan 7 at which time it will become [ACTIVE].

BONUS TIP: If you go to about 2:40 and 9:20 in the video you'll have cheat sheets on what elements will need to be in the infographic.  Perhaps a "before keyhotee" and "after keyhotee" with the two systems represented? All the info is there in the video, it just needs to be packaged. Good luck, bounty hunters... B

Here's my (updated) take. Of course there can be some more text included as well but I think it's nice to make it a bit mysterious, just like whenever Apple or another tech company hosts an event or launches a new product. You can fold it in the middle to make the distinction even bigger.

Slightly different take since in the previous image I'm talking about decentralized but put Keyhotee in the center which might raise some eyebrows.

GodsCreation,
This is GREAT.  And even more simplified than I envisioned (a good thing).  I personally don't think having Keyhotee in the center is a negative thing, but we'll see what the community has to say. You're on to something for sure with this look.  b

Also, maybe put something at the top that says "what is keyhotee?" or "keyhotee for dummies" or something that explains what the infographic is about...

Also, the following will need to be conveyed:

- the concept of outside threats or attacks (i.e.: government surveilance) that exist with current technology and how those threats are subsequently neutralized by using kehotee

- the idea that you own your own identity. For example currently if you have a gmail account, google owns your identity, under keyhotee, the user does.

It's a tall order, but we need to communicate everything that keyhotee does in one visual so someone can "get it" in just a few minutes, simple yet comprehensive.  Good luck. :0) B

I've tried adding some texts to each items and reflect them in the 'now' part. Of course they can be changed at will, or are you looking for a more graphical approach? I didn't add a large title in the lines of 'Whats Keyhotee?' cause I think in this particular design it will disturb the then/now headlines. Instead I put it in the page corner. Maybe this can be done for the other handouts as well. I think regardless who wins these bounties they should be uniformed to one color scheme/general feeling i guess. Also it might be a good idea to have a landing page on 3I's website which extends each flyer with more detailed (but still easy to understand) info. Maybe a QR code can be attached to all handouts for that as well. Cheers!

Good direction. I agree, all infographics should have a similar color scheme and look, since they'll be sitting out and distributed to the public together.

Also, we just discussed using these with a projector at our trade show/convention booths, so we may need to make the final selections in landscape form, rather than portrait so it can be projected on the screen unaltered. b

This isn't a hard deadline, and currently the Keyhotee graphics that have been submitted are not yet sufficient so please submit more.  We set a deadline to give us time to go outside the forum if we didn't like what was produced.

Here we have taken all the relevant information and continually simplified it to obtain a concise, informative design. Our graphic designer, Wade, has not heard of Keyhotee before this and we used this to create an infographic which conveys the desired information to the non-technical user.

We have gone with the "before keyhotee" and "after keyhotee" suggestion. We have brought to light the identity exposure issues users have with the internet in its current form. The issues around third party ownership of your identity as well as exposure to phishing sites and identity theft and how Keyhotee resolves this is also covered.

We see that GodsCreation has made submissions to the two other infographic bounties using a certain colour theme. We have therefore inserted the company name in the corner to maintain consistency and adopted the blue colour theme so that our infographic will complement the others should it be chosen.

We have created a portrait infographic for use as a flyer and feel that the two sections can be projected as two separate slides in a presentation. Where one would first show ‘the internet before Keyhotee’ slide and then ‘the internet without Keyhotee’ slide. If however you would prefer it all on one slide in landscape, for the projector or flyer or both, we will happily make the changes.

We are also happy to make changes as Invictus-Innovations sees appropriate. We hope you like it  :)

This is getting a little weird. I must have interpreted this wrong

Furthermore it would be nice if we could get some more feedback and updates on if it's going in the right direction (like the Bitshares infographic).

Just saying.

These are looking good.    One idea not covered is that your data is replicated with every merchant and thieves can steal from these merchants (Target, etc).

I like the Invictus innovations on the lower right, not the top left.

The phrase "catch you out" does not sound natural.....

"You give your identity to everyone website, some of which may be counterfeit"
"Your identity is stored with every merchant where it may be stolen by identity thieves"
"Your email is the key to every web service you use, and it may be disabled by companies or governments".
"You have no way to prove who said what and when before Keyhotee"

Just some ideas... your graphic is currently winning this bounty in my opinion.

I don't really have a problem with that to be honest, let other people a chance as well but some more updates on the direction would very much be appreciated. Of course you should go for the best wherever that can be found but for instance... I thought, since the deadline was not too far away to just start going and leave room for a few change rounds as well. And if the deadline get's extended for another week I would just start tomorrow with the 'best so far / 99% complete' design and polish it up and get a big bite of the bounty. In this case however there are not so many contenders but you get the point.

Perhaps you forgot to mention that you should credit Godscreation for the design, yours look a bit too similar to his, it looks more like you changed the icons and added some detail. For clarification please read  http://invictus-innovations.com/s/Bounty-Rules-and-Regulations.pdf i encourage you to keep a copy if you intende to consider more bounties. Great work though.

Hi all, my name is Wade and together with Ruzaiq.

Just to clarify, we planned, brainstormed and sketched out these layouts from scratch.

In response to barwizi's comment: when submitting our design, Ruzaiq did mention to everyone that we had seen a color scheme being carried through in the other bounties designs submitted by GodsCreation which the 3I members seemed to accept and that is why we used the same colors scheme in ours. I personally thought that due to the fact that the Keyhotee logo is predominantly red, that we should instead use shades of red, but felt that its simple enough to tweak should you want to change the colors after submitting.

I think it's a bit harsh to say that we need to credit GodsCreation on our design because it looks too similar. We have based our layout, in fact, on the diagrams within the YouTube video that we needed to work from and nothing from GodsCreation other than the color scheme. Of course there are going to be some similarities between any of the layouts submitted for this. The icons that you see on our design were created by me personally using Illustrator and I take pride in the work that I submit to the public.

In saying this I really hope that you can see it in a slightly different light. :)

Thanks,

Wade

Thanks for your feedback, we are implementing the changes.

I like the Invictus innovations on the lower right, not the top left.
would you like to keep the website text in the lower right corner (and remove top left label)?
Or move top left label to lower right (and leave out the website), here we could also replace the company name with the website name?

The phrase "catch you out" does not sound natural.....

"You give your identity to everyone website, some of which may be counterfeit"
"Your identity is stored with every merchant where it may be stolen by identity thieves"
"Your email is the key to every web service you use, and it may be disabled by companies or governments".
"You have no way to prove who said what and when before Keyhotee"
Thanks, working on this

Just some ideas... your graphic is currently winning this bounty in my opinion.
Thats fantastic, it would be really awesome to be able to contribute to Invictus' success at Miami all the way from Cape Town (talk about decentralization of work)!

Added the spy (hacker/governement etc) and the 3I in the bottom-right corner copied from Wade's design. Not commenting on this though I must say I do like the icon's you've created.

Below is our updated version, iterated on according to Bytemaster's suggestions.
These are looking good.    One idea not covered is that your data is replicated with every merchant and thieves can steal from these merchants (Target, etc).

I like the Invictus innovations on the lower right, not the top left.

The phrase "catch you out" does not sound natural.....

"Your identity is stored with every merchant where it may be stolen by identity thieves"

"You have no way to prove who said what and when before Keyhotee"

Just some ideas... your graphic is currently winning this bounty in my opinion.
Including the second last quote
"Your email is the key to every web service you use, and it may be disabled by companies or governments".
caused the graphic to become too crowded (we can still include it if Invictus wants this).
We feel this is partly covered by email being placed in the square where identities is owned by third parties.

We hope you like :)

What are AGS & PTS?   - None.  We decided not to use any of the submissions so the bounty is still open for this infographic.

We'd ask for some final revisions on these two winning designs before we go to print. Once final revisions are made, we'll pay out the bounties.  Thanks again to everyone for contributing!

Can I offer a suggestion?  Its not a biggy, but can we tone down the phrase "The Government is unable to access centralized servers to spy on you."  to something more like "Corporations and Federal-Sponsored Bureaucracies are unable to access centralized servers to spy on you."  or even "Corporations and Public-Sponsored Agents are unable to access centralized servers to spy on you."

Just a shade less radical imo.  Any direct memo in opposition to governments could be misconstrued by the media, especially when we know things become mainstream.  Also people always hate corporations so we should throw that in there.

How about generalizing it to Orwell's "Big Brother"?
Is that a more timeless, internationally well-recognized, and less radical term?   :)

I think for now it is okay to be a bit anti-gov.
We first need to capture the early adopters market (which tend to be a bit more of a radical group of people).
Targeting mainstream comes later.
