Title: What is the reason for big price rise?
Post by: dritz3r on February 15, 2016, 08:33:06 am
I noticed a huge increase in prices. Does anyone know why? Judging from the news should be reversed.

The volume of MUSE transactions on Yunbi and elsewhere is very low. It doesn't take many buys on Yunbi to really push the price up. Unfortunately the reverse is also true.

bad news is that cob doesnt show up again to keep us up to date and learn from his mistakes. But hey, at least the daily volume dropped under 1000USD again so we are experiencing "business as usual"

Hmm I guess the price rise must be a result of low liquidity. It looked like the market was running out of sellers on openmuse so people who really wanted to buy pushed up the price.

Someone mentioned a faucet server in another topic that was down/rebooted, would that have any effect on price if people can not trade? Someone else taking advantage of this to make the market price higher?

Let's say you wanted to buy 200k muse. Not a large amount but more than can be bought at Yunbi without walking the order book. Since volumes are so low such a purchase really moves the market.
