Title: Warning: phishing incidents from sites OBITS and BTSR
Post by: openledger on March 01, 2016, 09:09:31 pm
Dear  OBITS holder,  BTSR holder and OpenLedger user,

Please read this information carefully!

Recently some users suffered phishing attacks!

We have recorded frequent cases of sending messages to users of Bitshares, OBITS and BTSR community.

IF you have received a letter on our behalf with any attachments – in any case do not open them.

We wish to remind you that we will never ask you to send us your username or password, nor to send additional funds, or to attach any files etc.

Be careful!

Yours Sincerely,

Ronny Boesing

I hope we get a detailed analysis of what happened and how CCEDK will prevent future security breaches.
And I hope our bank account details and document copies from the FIAT Deposit page are more secure!
Your security is our security.
EDIT: Actually I don`t know why we need two threads under general to address this topic...

This is actually a good sign. If they didn't see potential on OpenLedger or see it as a potential future threat, they wouldn't do it  :)

At last, some recognition maybe

This is a situation like so many others, I will not let these people be the reason for me to have to explain how we deal with security, putting it all in their hands. We are not the first experiencing this kind, and we are not the last. We do all we can to secure best way possible. But really, this is solved and thats that. Lets focus on what really counts, speaking how to prevent somethng from happening is going to take us into next century, and not worth the time. What you can do is look if you can do things better and then do it, thats all everybody does.

It is put here as official info and could be put under CCEDK in fact.

I have no words for that statement, sorry.

Aha!  The dots connected -

I've been wondering why within the last week or so I've been getting a rash of "invoice" emails. Of course I don't bother with them & they go straight to the bit bucket but geeze it's very annoying. At least now I know which address they're coming in on.
