Title: ShareBits.io problem
Post by: gn1 on March 29, 2016, 03:20:42 pm
When I try to sharedrop using ShareBits.io, I get the error message, "Unauthenticated request, please login to the appropriate account!"

How do you tie your BTS account to the ShareBits.io service so that the sharedrop works properly from the correct account?

it isnt very obvious atm, ill give you that.  how you do it is to sign in with the pass being the same as your login.  you then go to the security tab and send a new private key to your btstalk account.  It will come to you in a pm and then you will have to use that key.

Sometimes there will be people who reset yourbpassword though which may be a pain.  so what i suggest you do is sign in using your btstalk account and then "merge" yoir twitter and reddit accounts.  i use reddit and twitter more often than my actual code.

When I tried to generate the security code from the security tab, nothing showed up on the screen so I pressed the generate code button again. Then, I got the error message, "Too soon to request another code for this account." Now, I can't generate any code. Furthermore, there was no PM that came into my BitSharesTalk account, so it's currently in a stuck state.

Is Sharebits.io working for you properly now?

This little beginning UI issue is something I am very aware of and am working to get it fixed.  However, you will get your passcode.  If you do not get it at all let me know though because that would mean there is a bug or something was done incorrectly (though that does not sound to be the case).

Until then I'd suggest just signing in with twitter or reddit until that code is sent to you.  You are the lucky beta tester :D

I did not get the passcode by PM.

I've just created a brand new twitter username, logged into ShareBits.io using the twitter ID, funded ShareBits.io with the asset, and when I try to sharedrop, I get the error message, "ERROR: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Where do you tie the BTS account with the twitter ID? That is the part I still do not understand.

sometimes it takes awhile. it never did for me in the past. you will have to merge accou ts using the merge accounts tab.

how are u typing in the asset? I only have seen that error when typing the asset name wrong or trying to share tokens with the wrong syntax.

>> sometimes it takes awhile.

You know what.. I will wait 24 hours, and try generating the code again and see if I can receive the PM correctly this time.

>> you will have to merge accou ts using the merge accounts tab.

Merge account will tie the Twitter and the BitSharesTalk.org account, correct? I wanted to know how to tie the BTS account. In other words, how would the system know that your Twitter account and BitSharesTalk.org account and BTS account are all the same person's account?

>> how are u typing in the asset?

What do you mean? I am typing them in CAPS.

Tried generating code again after 24 hours, but PM never arrived to my bitsharestalk.org account. Maybe something is going wrong here.
