Title: [United States] Moving US$ to OpenLedger
Post by: soarhevn on April 25, 2016, 01:31:03 am
Kicking off a thread to see if anyone else in the U.S. has moved money into OpenLedger and how they did it. Especially if you have done so by funding somehow out of your USD bank account.

I don't think it's the best way if you're not based in Europe. The costs will be too high, and it will take too long.

Why not use a US-based bitcoin exchange, and shapeshift to BTS (once their system is fully back up) ?

from some banks the cost of transfer is almot the same as doing wire transfers to europe from us.

I have noticed cost from oing wire transfer is 20-40 usd as cost of wire transfer and that is it

we are no deposit fees for teh time being for usd transfers

The only practical way for US residents to fund bitshares account is to buy bitcoin first for example at coinbase.

I set up an account at Krakin and I think I will use this. What is your suggestion on bit currency, Bitcoin or a different alt?

OPEN.BTC is the most liquid at bitshares, so I guess you don't have much choice.
