Title: Trying to import WIF from BTC->AGS crowdsale
Post by: runderwo on August 25, 2016, 01:46:20 am
I've tried the following in both Chrome and Firefox:
1. Create an account at https://bitshares.openledger.info/
2. Settings->Restore/Import->Import a private key
3. Paste WIF key from BTC wallet that was used to send to 1ANGEL address
4.  Click "Submit"
5. "Found key." appears above private key input box.
6. ... and nothing else at all happens.

I am an idiot, so how do I do this?  I was following these instructions:
http://docs.bitshares.org/bitshares/investor/claim.html

the claim procedure has changed slightly ..
Go to your settings -> wallet -> lookup balances
then you should be able to claim your BTS

Okay, I did that, but all it shows is: "No unclaimed balances found".
I must be overlooking something obvious.

1LZ7qy75ywixhmqXArMKNtzZJrXzGDNNws is the wallet that I sent to the 1ANGEL address from.  I just can't figure out how to import it to claim the AGS.

bump, I am still stuck.  Has this import actually worked for anyone else?

Are you sure you set the active wallet to the one that contains imported key? You need to select active wallet from the list and then press "change to .." button and then press "lookup balances".

Also, are you sure you're importing WIF BTC key and not 'raw' private key?

Just guessing here

I figured this out finally.  I imported both PTS that I mined and AGS crowdsale.

First I followed these steps to import the PTS wallet.dat.
https://www.reddit.com/r/BitShares/comments/3wg3no/how_can_i_convert_protoshares_pts_client_v085_to/

Then I used the Bitshares 0.9.3 GUI to import the WIF key of the BTC wallet from above that had funded the AGS crowdsale.

Then, don't use the GUI to export the wallet as json! You have to use the Bitshares 0.9.3 CLI and wallet_export_keys command.

Then open the Bitshares 2 web wallet.  Follow these instructions roughly:
http://docs.bitshares.eu/migration/howto-importing-wallet.html#web-wallet

After importing the Bitshares 0.9.3 exported json, you'll have to reload the wallet or the next steps won't work.

Once the keys are imported and browser tab reloaded, to claim balances you must select the account in the dropdown, even if there is only one account.

If you get an error when submitting the transaction claiming balances, just try it again.

Hope this helps someone.  I would add that this process is not at all intuitive and you will need a measure of patience to keep trying.  If patience is not your thing, you can pm fluxer555 who has helped many people migrate their previous funds to the Bitshares 2 wallet.
