Title: Witnesses - please report in
Post by: fav on February 23, 2017, 04:54:34 pm
please show that you're still active and what you're currently working on in BitShares within 24hours.

I'll vote accordingly and can only urge anyone else to do the same.

Quick answer:

witness node with feeds and backup
seed node
testnet node
full public api and web wallet www.altcap.io
liquidity and market making with my witness pay. I  will have at least 1000000 BTS locked in collateral and will short USD CNY EUR GBP with future witness pay

I would like to spin up another full public api and web wallet depending on how the voting goes.

Although I was voted out, my witness node is still up and running. Just in case you're unhappy with the current set of witnesses. :-)

24 is pretty short timeframe for response! Hopefully you reached out to them by a more direct message as well?

Looking forward to the replies. Thanks.

far too long, if something happens they need to react quicker than that.

witness wackou, still active. Running a witness with feeds (also the lesser known ones, such as ALTCAP and BTWTY), as well as a seed node (seed.bitsharesnodes.com:1776).

I also maintain the following page: http://status.bitsharesnodes.com, and keep doing development on the bts_tools (although not as much as I would like due to real-life constraints, but hopefully the situation is going to get better in a few months). Actual development can be followed here: https://github.com/wackou/bts_tools/commits/master

Future work include setting up more public nodes, as well as working on a deploy script to set them up on a new VPS from scratch.

obviously in.abit is the best witness with fastest response,
but you remove your vote because of he didn't report to a random person.
I doubt this is a Objective judgement

anyway, there are some meaning in this thread.
for those witness who  report in this thread but later than 24 hours,
I doubt your fast response ability.

I'm well aware of his performance, but that doesn't exclude him.

I expect witnesses to be active on a daily basis in this part of the forum.

It's time to raise the bar since the committee voted for payment increase.

I popped into the forum a few times but managed to miss this thread.

With all the Telegram chatter and being on the road my routine is a bit disrupted.

I've always admired your witness monitoring @fav, sorry if I failed to meet your criteria this time.

My priority is always on witness and seed node status, monitored directly at least twice a day. I also expect to see emergency alerts on telegram for urgent issues and real time missed block notifications.

You might consider that some witnesses such as myself are on the road after Anarchapulco conference and may not be monitoring the forum as usual tho they are nevertheless monitoring by other means.

I am always monitoring and prepared to take action as necessary. I saw no need, checked on my witness and seed nodes twice a day and all operating normally.

@kenCode also seems impatient concerning seeing witness improvements.

It also boils down to conventions, OF WHICH NONE ARE ESTABLISHED. Some live on Telegram, some like the forum, others only care about mumble. And what of Slack? I haven't heard much about that in a long while. There are no standards. Sigh :(
