Title: Desktop Wallet Backup
Post by: user003 on August 10, 2017, 11:45:40 am
Hello. Ive set up a desktop wallet on my pc.  How do i make a backup?

This is the information provided:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Backups
It is recommended to make regular backups of your wallet even though in most cases a single backup may be sufficient. Please note that in order to recover from a backup you will also need to provide the pass phrase because backups are encrypted. Hence, if you either lose your wallet or your pass phrase you will be unable to access any of your funds again!

Backups can be obtain from the Wallet Management Console (Settings -> Wallets).
----------------------------------------------------------------

When i go to "Settings" theres no "Wallets" but only:

General
Accounts
Password
Restore/Import
Access

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You are using the account model so there is no wallet for you to backup, just make sure you remember your account name and password.

I recently updated to the newest version (tiaao) and I also see no Backup option any longer, when prior to upgrading I was always using the backup option.

In the help, it still shows to goto Settings > Backup, yet the link is dead when you click it.

Edit : I think I see what it is. When upgrading it appears you are swapped to an "account" version by default and will need to "Enable Local Wallet" in Settings > Restore/Import.
