Title: security question
Post by: Dinko on April 01, 2018, 01:17:13 pm
Hello guys!
Could you please recommend me the best way to secure my BTS account? Is saving the brainkey somewhere enough to recover my account in case my laptop hard drive gets damaged? Should I save that bin file somewhere?Sorry for newb question but I couldn't find such topic.  Have a nice day! :)

you can and you should do copy of:

1. *.bin file (in many locations, offline and online)
AND
2. Active and Owner Priv Key (digital and paper)
AND
3. Brainkey (digital and paper)

I like stainless dog tags for paper; split the key between two unrelated vendors on two tags.

pretty much fire safe, water safe; easy to hide

If you're using cloud wallet mode, please save your account name and password. Owner key and active key do work and you can save the private keys of them, but brain key is not used in this case.
