Title: I3 Site ranking [suggestions]
Post by: unimercio on March 07, 2014, 01:42:07 pm
I thought I would start this thread in an effort to gather intel and suggestions we could pass on to the I3 SEO team.
Looking at the Alexa site rankings in the DAC/Dapp related space, I see this forum is doing well, but the invictus.io site has fallen to 3rd place in ranking.

Possible incremental steps towards boosting the ranking include:

"All I3 stakeholders consider including a link back to I3 in your profile signature on https://bitcointalk.org/"
- nice idea. Currently bitcointalk blocking editing this though.

I think the focus should be on bitshares.org when the new site is launched, they have a high end team working on it right now and I'm sure they take SEO into account as well. But good ideas about articles and signatures but often they have a nofollow attribute.

+5% that makes sense.. bitshares.org should be the focus then. I assume once the branding roadmap is complete, we can circle back and make a SEO push.

fwiw, Alexa rankings are very misleading, at least they used to be I don't know if things have changed. Their stats are/were based on whether browsers had Alexa toolbar installed or other things that could send data back to Aexa, which boosted rankings for the segment of the population that used those tools i.e. webmasters.

true, any thoughts on an alternative source of metrics? the idea is to improve SEO, agnostic of the toolset.

We are moving everything to bitshares.org so we want to put our effort in building up that domain.   It currently redirects to invictus.io, but I have asked our team members to get a server up and hosting that.   The new site Brian has under development will be out in just a couple of weeks at which point invictus.io will redirect.
