Title: Decentralized Autonomous Ride Network (DARN)
Post by: CWEvans on March 25, 2014, 06:24:23 pm
OK, so that's not the real acronym.  The point is that the age of DACs is upon us.

"RideShares is a community-based open-source project built on a fully distributed architecture with no central core. From decision making to stake holdings, servers, development and adoption, the organisation is built on a completely peer-to-peer protocol and it’s power is in it’s people. (http://rideshares.org/)"

Was this one of the teams awarded $250k at Texas conference hackathon?

I think this has the potential to do to Uber what bittorrent did to [Napster, Kazaa, et. al]

It will be very interesting to see which regulators try to shovel back the tide, and which will adapt to this crazy new decentralized game of Whack-a-Mole.
