Title: Check your expected LottoShares balance for AGS
Post by: toast on June 05, 2014, 07:28:13 pm

You should multiply your AGS balance by (1000/152).

The total is off (too low) by about 400 lottoshares, or 0.004%. I think this is rounding, but it also might be because of keyhotee founder nonsense - unlike the rest of AGS this does not have an easily auditable definition and depends on the spreadsheets maintained by stan/danN  + my postprocessing being right. So worst case some founder gets less lottoshares than they should.

All my balances for "normal" AGS are right.

My personal opinion is that if everyone who checks it in this thread say it's OK, we should say "screw it, good enough" and not make FreeTrade waste any more time on this. We will provide a super-sure triple-checked AGS balance list for other DAC devs in the future.

It's correct for one of my ags address, and that's the only one I can remember without opening the wallet.  Cuz after donating many times, now I have a number of ags addresses in one wallet.

Close enough.

Can you give details? Are you checking 1) all AGS before may 31st? and 2) including or not including keyhotee founder?

Is the AGS address same to the address of the PTS of donations?

btw, will lottoshares use private key to claim the shares?will FreeTrade consider using the private key signature or other approach?

Check FreeTrade's comment below.

Only thing that hurdles me is that the user needs to create 3 files. Much like signing offline txs with bitcoin using Armory :-)
But ... secure!

Yes, very similar.

Also the process could alternately be handled on a webpage similar to brainwallet so that no software need be installed -

Steps:

1. Enter public key(s) / upload file of public keys to web form
2. Generate unsigned transaction
3. copy/paste unsigned transaction into trusted client (eg PTS client)
4. copy/paste signed transaction back into web form

Both the BTC and PTS addresses I checked were fine.

Not a keyhotee  founder, so I do not know about those.

Can we already check if our BTC and DOGE  addresses were among the lucky ones? If ‘yes’ where?

This one looks wrong:

14fXr2UTa17CadcZ911N7TBFqMLpqsfNae:2705.0254332885834

It should be 2708.822177894737 based on information from AngelShares Explorer (had to subtract 154.79850924 AGS donated on June 1st to get 411.74097104 AGS total)

The error is small, but other addresses I checked didn't have discrepancies like this.

The difference is small enough to be ignored, but perhaps whatever caused the error could be significant in another way?

I'm really curious to know how this could happen (I hope I've not worked it out incorrectly).

P.S. As CalabiYau pointed out earlier, the title in Pastebin is, "AGS distribution 31st May 2004" - should be 2014

Looking through AGS explorer

I can't find the below addresses:

1BpMQkVhDbeHtxU4oqcdLo3YTPu5GDfEY1

This one is only a "related address"  Note http://www1.agsexplorer.com/balances/1BpMQkVhDbeHtxU4oqcdLo3YTPu5GDfEY1  indicates that the ags and bts are for a different address:18naJqEVwSjnY3ojh3WAhLpQkJxDkPqPHc

PjsTZ8eijcy9rj87u1KnrQHiBui9cGibkw
This one was made after the lottoshares snapshot, and so doesn't qualify.

I didn't check the rest as I'd bet they are similar cases.

I don't like the way AgsExplorer displays these as I was confused by this as well.

[Edit]
The rest are all in there : http://pastebin.com/u9WKpcAb

PmvbDZAVXtDm7ZWScVPJUpVTUj6q7faJtE

PqBXB5HeZD6RMz5ak4jAuXYN1beQTgRWtd

PZywDVgBTH4wuWMCJTynFXTigH4aG88PyF  is another "related address" where PoYMdd4KUuuZdsuPp8eUGZPTLHM6vLsDrP is the actual qualifying address.

I was hoping for a comment on my Reply #17 regarding address 14fXr2UTa17CadcZ911N7TBFqMLpqsfNae
How was the http://pastebin.com/u9WKpcAb (http://pastebin.com/u9WKpcAb) created?

I'm just curious as to how the discrepancy could have arisen, and whether there are any ramifications...

Maybe you can see if the difference is in the generator or postprocessing on freetrade's side.

That discrepancy is very curious indeed, I would expect it to either be totally off or be right on target.

We will definitely be much more rigorous with AGS before any later snapshot. FreeTrade sort of caught us off guard and neither he nor we have time to write a whole new parser for auditing. IMO him honoring AGS at all is "good enough" for now. Bummer you're 3 lottoshares short though =\

Thanks for your time toast.
The figure produced by the generator differs from the figure I calculated from AGS Explorer (subtracting AGS donation from 1st June).

Assuming I've worked it out right (?) I'm baffled - is there a problem with the generator?

Is this genesis block generator to be used for Bitshares X, does anyone know?

I'm not expecting FreeTrade to spend time on this for LottoShares, but am concerned about a potential flaw somewhere which could affect BitShares stuff going forward.

Does anyone think this is worth looking into (sorry, I wouldn't know where to begin)?

For the X snapshot we checked two independent implementations (I believe they are the ones used for the AGS explorer and the generator) and they matched. So I guess they diverged at some point after.

Obviously we will need a thorough audit of our generation process before we make any more snapshots.

I was in the midst of donating on May 31 and I think it caught part of that, so the number for my addresses looked odd, but I think only because not all of my donation had gone through yet. I'll call it accurate.

Some clarification please...

If you own PTS when snapshot was made for lotto, that means you will have shares in lotto?  If so, how does one check those shares?

1. Yes.

2. You can start LottoShares client with your ProtoShares wallet.dat in place in the LottoShares directory, and it should import your balances - and it will tell you which random block they mature on.

This random block will change when LottoShares is launched.

If you have a large balance, tranches of 10,000 will mature at different random times, so that they don't all mature on the same block.

Also, you can view balanced to be included here -
