How to upgrade the wallet with safety and efficiency?

Can we just cover the old installation directory with new wallet to remain the blockchain data?

The blockchain data is store in you profile .. not where you installed the walet to .. yoz can safely cover the old file .. blockchain and wallet files are aafe in your local windows profile .. just always make a backup of you wallet file/folder .. just to be sure
