I just updated my BTSX wallet from 0.2.1 to 0.3.0, but can no longer see my registered accounts.
I tried importing config.json from my roaming folder and got the following message:
Failed to restore wallet backup. Your original wallet has been restored. Error: Bad Cast (7)
Invalid cast from object_type to Array
Can someone tell me what I've done wrong? I shouldn't do this stuff when I'm tired, but it's the only chance I get! Sorry to be a pain.
Edit: do I need to do a re-scan or something? Can't remember how...

The new client should reference the old data directory. You shouldn't have to do anything. You can try a wallet_rescan_blockchain. Question: When you launched the client did you have to put in your password or was it like you were starting from scratch?

It was like I was starting from scratch...

Yeah, it was 19 days behind. That's when BTSX launched isn't it? Maybe the wallet isn't working from the roaming data files somehow?
Edit: I've done a rescan - still no sign of my accounts. Maybe I should reinstall the client again. Thanks for your help so far Riverhead, perhaps I can pay you by voting for you!
Gotta get some sleep now, so I'll come back to this later...

Ya that's pretty much it. Try and locate the pre update files and put them where it created the new ones.

Well, thank Nakamoto (or should that be Larimer) I had a backup.
I don't know what exactly happened. I didn't think it was supposed to overwrite the roaming files. I uninstalled the old client, installed the newer one, and when I ran it, it was as if the old stuff was never there.
As you suggested Riverhead, I needed to replace the json with a copy of the old one!
I shall never update without double checking my backups.
Thanks Riverhead, I will be voting for you (99.57% reliability!)...
