What is the Precision??

you want your shares to be dividable? if no your precision should be "0" .. if you want it like USD dollar ... with up to 99 cents .. your precision should be "2"

in short: decimal places

If unsure test it! It will cost you just a few thousand dollars.

it 10 to the power of 0 and 10 to the power of 2 ;-)

BTW. there is a testnet running (resets sometimes) it is in the github.com/BitShares repos and is called bitshares_toolkit ..
some devs can send you some funds and you can play around with the assets for free
