Title: Blockchain questions

How long does it take to sync the blockchain? How large should .BitSharesX directory be? Can I transfer BTSX before blockchain is fully synced?

Depends greatly on the latency of your connection, but I can sync in about 10 minutes where as others have reported a couple of hours. 

The blockchain database is 303 MB, the entire data dir is 500 MB.

It is not recommended to transfer before being fully synced.
