Title: Deleteing a wallet file
Post by: kasman5 on August 29, 2014, 02:34:44 pm
Hi, I made a test account and forgot the password, no big deal because I wasn't loading it with BTSX. However I want to setup my proper account but everytime I unistall the client and reinstall it's loading the old wallet back in. I thought I had deleted the wallet file by going into app data but clearly not.

Any help is much appreciated.

Sounds like you're doing the correct thing.

1) Shutdown the BitSahresX client (make sure it's not running in the task manager)

2) Go to %AppData%\BitSharesX and rename the wallets folder (or delete it if you're sure it's not being used)

3) Relaunch the client and you should get the opening screen with the EULA.

If that's not happening make sure you're not passing it a --data-dir flag as well.

Thanks that worked. Seems just deleting the data inside the folders isn't enough. I deleted the whole wallet folder and that was spot on, cheers.
