Sigh, those comments. It's probably going to take decades before people accept internet voting for serious government elections.

Getting people to trust the security and privacy of BitShares Vote is probably going to be the hardest marketing challenge. Perhaps it would help a little bit if the community came up with accessible (yet somewhat accurate) metaphors for the technology and cryptography behind it, relating the complicated digital mechanisms to magical physical mechanisms that people can at least wrap their heads around.

Even then, there is always the legitimate argument that voters' personal computers can be hacked. I don't know how to convince people that the risk of a secret widespread hack of people's PCs that could significantly affect the election results is low enough to justify internet voting given its tremendous benefits.

Don't lose heart arhag, they're confused and scared which makes rational analysis difficult.  They'll come around or their children will.

Hopefully, blockchain technology will become ubiquitous and younger generations will be much more familiar with it.  The entrenched oligopoly will be brought down by the freedom of value exchange, not by political voting itself.  Voting with capital is the most potent of votes after all.

Traditional political voting, where one vote cast somehow entitles a group of apparent maniacs (who probably campaigned on education) to sell our public assets, nationalize private banking debt and start wars, will be super-seeded.  Blockchain voting could give every individual hundreds or thousands of votes....should they choose to exercise them.  These votes will be cast to allocate funds to expert administrators who will campaign on their expertise and the benefits they bring to specific social tasks.  A lot like Bytemaster's DPOS Delegate system.  A person who wants to control our national education budget will have to compete on reputation, experience etc with anyone else who wants that job.  If they win the vote and the budget the education budget, they do education and that's it, they don't get to start making decisions on domestic security or defense etc.
