General Discussion / Re: Dry Run 8: Need for Speed
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:03:26 am »
Issue 1: Cant connect to seed nodes.
Issue 2: The same IP that was creating numerous connections per second to me in Dry Run 7 is still doing that. Every time it connects some of my other peers gets disconnected.
Issue 3: I'm out of XTS.

This favors early birds too much.
In the beginning you just dont have enough statistical data to properly set delegate registration fee.

Moreover If I'm EVIL delegate I could create transactions with all my stake every time I have a chance (recipient me of course) so I can increase the price for newcomers.

I would suggest minimum and maximum fee.

Delegates angel and emski up and running. Voting for them is your second chance to earn my eternal gratitude.

Another delegate requires more than 81K XTS ???
Code: [Select]
wallet_account_register lotto emski a 100
20010 insufficient_funds: insufficient funds

    {"required":"81,939.13458 XTS"

1099
Currently group owning 51% of the stake controls all 101 delegates.
They can:
Ignore transactions. Including banning single address from sending/receiving.
Rise transaction fees at will.
Have free transactions.

It should be very useful having some short time analytics on the delegate behavior to take decision in events like this one.
+5%

Also we need auto-voting to kick out non-producing delegates
Without negative votes that might be a little difficult to accomplish.

In the logs it says I've disconnected some peers due to timeout.
Is this a bug?

Any comments on this?
That user opens significant amount of connections per second.
I get connection errors for other peers after some of failed connections from that host.
It is either a serious bug or someone tries to exploit this.

PS: Anyone recognizes 61.177.35.218 as his own?

In the logs it says I've disconnected some peers due to timeout.
Is this a bug?

Perhaps some judges can be assigned.
But this don't need blockchain just a site. Its very similar to kickstarter.

how about making it so you can't claim a bounty you contributed to?

well.. then you have identity verification to contend with...

how about requiring an 80 % majority vote?

Then I'll steal only 20% of X.

I have X coins.
I look for a bounty that currently holds X-1 coins.
I attempt to get the bounty (not really just claiming I've solved the problem).
With my X money I vote for bounty completed.
Regardless of the vote of others I get X-1 + X coins.

The real issue here is who decides if the job is completed.
Perhaps if you are not satisfied your bid still stays and you cant get it back until someone does it correctly. However this could also be exploited.

Well its generally needed once every 101 blocks when ordering delegates.

My delegates emski-delegate3 and lotto are out of top101.
They are well performing testing delegates helping diversify delegate pool.
Also they help me test the functionality and report issues back.
If there are some good souls out there willing to upvote them I'll be eternally grateful for that.

I will if you

a) tell me how to do it
b) send me some funds to play with at XTS5sBWGBjwcR4FBE6H4yzNhbvZCY5oetY7Bkgoouh4da4bFVPZ9c

I don't see a vote option in the GUI.

Cant help you with the GUI.

a) commandline is "wallet_approve_delegate <delegatename>"
Then you need to make a transaction.

b) done

I haven't had a chance to read all 22 pages.  What happened to the network last night.  Seems like my delegate node forked, and now on a rebuild I am having a hard time rebuilding the chain.  I've gotten stuck around block 2700 a few times now.  Looks like I am past it now (haven't unlocked my wallet)

"blockchain_average_delegate_participation": 28.973034997131382,

And it looks like I am not the only one having difficulties?
Everything looked nice at first... until people started using/stressing/testing it.
