General Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Ethereum-Ripple

Don't worry, at this very moment we have Brian Page bringing in some large "whales" from St. Marten. It's super hush hush though. Don't tell anyone.

Even though his actual marketing abilities were shit, Brain sent the team to Austin, where they first met Eddie Corral, and BitShares Music was born.  That deal alone may have been worth his entire paycheck.

Greetings,

I am a software engineer in Southern California. In the past, when looking for jobs, I have worked with staffing firms.  In particular, there is one company I turn to first, as their recruiters have always been very helpful, and I have maintained a good working relationship with them.  A few months ago, I had lunch with two of the recruiters I had worked with and spent all meal talking about cryptocurrencies, BitShares, what the industry is doing and where its going.  They have been very receptive to the ideas, and while they haven't dove in yet, crypto is on their radar.

I had lunch today with these same two individuals and updated them with BitShares status, including the addition of one of its best new features: Blockchain Hiring.  I pitched them with my ideas of how they can help, and if you ask me, finding top developers has ALWAYS been one of BitShares greatest challenges.  These two men just so happen to have have a rolodex full of quality engineers, many of whom are unemployed and looking for work, or are already used to working on open source projects for free.  They are also used to working in environments in which the effort they put in determines the rewards they receive.  As I went over the process for getting hired, and how to maintain accountability, they still remained very interested.

So, my question to the community is this:

How badly do you want professional recruiters working for our project?

I told my friends I would direct them to this thread, so please show them our support and convince them to make a submit a proper proposal. Let us know that you'll vote them in as paid delegates for either 1 or 2 positions (a tech partner may be needed), and what criteria you will use to judge their performance.

Thanks,

sschechter

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Please consider voting down blackwavelabs

Congratulations, the system worked, and it only cost one week of pay. A company I worked for had a PhD new hire come in and work for a month or two before getting fired for not producing anything of value, and even worse, did things that needed to be undone.  Sounds like BitShares got off cheaply.

General Discussion / Re: Up to 27 100% delegates. Really?

Id like to propose a 100% delegate to oversee the inspector delegate.

Please do so.  You're delegate fee will keep a serious developer paid for an extra two weeks

What will healthcare industry look like? If I can convince my bosses...

Health care records will be moved onto the blockchain.  Record owners will have a read only key to their records, but can sign off on 'contributors' ie physicians who can modify these records.  This will also open up the door for other third party's to provide healthcare services to your cell phone, such as rule based clinical notifications and reminders, that are targeted by demographic. You're a 50 year old male? Its time for your first colonoscopy

Is DPOS part of the Bitshares toolkit?
If so, would Bitcoin make a donation of sorts in terms of coins to Bitshare holders in the event of integration of this software.
It would be difficult to imagine unless Bitshares becomes larger than Bitcoin.

This would never happen based on one core BitShares flaw.....they didn't think of it first  8)

I'm betting that Bishares will be up 1000% by the end of the year.

Is that the new LGBT coin?

Is just speculation,What also doesn't explain,Don't have any good news
Will fall down soon

No, it is not speculation imo.

A lot of people expected the BTS price to drop when a lot of vested balances became available at the same time.

So a lot of people have kept some money on the sides waiting to buy BTS on the dip.

If the vested balances don't cause a dip then we'll see a spike as all that side money still wants to buy BTS.

It's also very good for BTS in general as if this large vested balance release doesn't cause a dip, it likely means the next two years of release shouldn't cause downward pressure either.

So this could be the start of a strong uptrend, we'll just have to see the next few days how many people sell their merger allocation.

Knowing that everyone else is expecting a decline is why I think it wont  8) Today is a strong sign.  You may have nailed it with this explanation

With a decentralized stock exchange, you get immediate ownership of your property, your private keys.  You think you own the stocks you "own"?  Its almost certainly in your brokers name, while the broker issues you an IOU. You have to make a specific request to get stock issued in your own name.

block time should be 10 seconds, not 5 minutes -> makes those confirmation times seem less impressive

How are shares burned? Who does the burning? Do they just disappear from your wallet?

Please don't tell me that the plan is that shareholders will do this voluntarily....

And also, claiming that this unimplemented share burning proposal makes this not a Ponzi would be like Madoff telling regulators he had a proposal to buy real assets some day....

And yet no one ever says NuShares is centralized and run by a network of insiders.....shows how hypocritical crypto nerds really are.  We say we want one thing.....until theres money involved.

The number of people who are interested in or own Bitshares, who will be convinced to sell them and walk away from Bitshares because of this post is an unknown number greater than zero.

The number of people who will, months or years from now, come back to this post and think, that freaken Dan Larimer is a genius, for knowing that this closed source, anonymously run ponzi scheme will break down, and investors will lose money.
